Xiaomi Fan - Worth it?

With summer coming up I’m looking for a good value DC pedestal fan.

Kogan has the Xiaomi one at a good price and it is well regarded on here. My main concern is it says 90cm. It doesn’t say if that’s total height or bottom of fan blades etc.

Does anyone find this height okay for usage?

I wanted to put it in the bedroom. My concern is 90cm won’t have enough height to clear frame + mattress.

    Xiaomi Fan - Worth it?

I'm a fan of xiaomi and I am worthy.

    • Do you find it’s shortness to be of a hindrance?

      • MS Paint is a fan of the brand/company Xiaomi :)

    Do you have a link?

Summer isn't looking to be as hot as recent years due to La Nina.

Edit: 90cm should be high enough if it can tilt unless you're in a bunk bed.

    • @Caped Baldy - Having a good fan is still nice to have for breeze. Xiaomi make good stuff generally. My concern was more around the height. As it still needs to serve a purpose. Breville air Dynamic is pretty much same size and specs but 2x the price.

      • Pretty cool that they're battery powered and transportable. A concern would be how powerful it is compared to other fans and it ramping down as the power drains

        • @caped baldy - They can be battery and mains powered. That’s what drew me to it initially, very handy. But the height might be an issue, as my bed and mattress is 90cm.

Yes. It's quiet, solid, cordless and well built. You can always place it on a small stool if height is an issue.

    • @Ryneck - Thank you for the feedback. I had concerns around the height as bed +mattress is 90cm.

So depending on how they measure the fan it could be too low.

I've measured it for you. From the base to the center of the blades, it's 78cm.

        • @Ryanek - Thank you for this!

78cm is very low! That seems almost desk fan like. Back to the drawing board it is.

  • Happy with mine, keep it beside the bed, it's a perfect height and the air/noise ratio is great. Works fine with homeassistant too if that's your thing.

  • Kogan one for $100 seems the better choice then?

    • I have both the Kogan and the Midea. Apart from the middle body, they are identical down to the remote. The Midea is $20 cheaper and came with free shipping without having to subscribe to Kogan First.

Combine with the Latitude Pay deal to bring the price down to $59.
