Best "smart watch" alternative I've used so far.

Kills the Samsung active 2 for dead. Much better sleep analysis than Samsung watch.

    Automatically detects workouts

Amazing 10+ days of battery life even with continuous heart monitoring

    Very small and light

Awesome OLED screen. Dark and great colour.

Why spend $500 on a Samsung watch. This does everything the Samsung does and is accurate. Samsung had horrible sleep mistakes and 1 day battery

    • Cannot wait to get mine

  • Just black only? Bugger… Get one for a girl and two boys haha

Plenty of colour band options on AliExpress. Even some locally on eBay

  • Bought one, thanks

This isn't the best Smart watch deal IMO.

The Amazfit Band 5 has all the features of the MiBand 5, but also comes with an SpO2 sensor and Alexa support built in.

It looks like a MiBand 5, has the same parent company, but it's generally regarded a much much better watch:
    https://www.tomsguide.com/reviews/amazfit-band-5

And you can get it for around 50 AUD right now:

    https://a.aliexpress.com/_mt0j9Qv

Click buy it now to get it for 45AUD, wuth GST it goes up to 50AUD.

You can also use the code BAND51212 if the buy it now offer does not appear (I can't check because I've already used it).

    • If this would arrive by Christmas I think you would have sold me.

$69 (there's a $20 discount on checkout) from Amazon AU which arrives in a couple of days:

        https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08DKWSVZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f…

I guess you have to ask yourself if SpO2 and Alexa voice commands are worth the premium in this case.

        • Thanks. Will have a Google and see how I feel. Do you know if the amazfit links to Google fit the same as the mi band?

Edit: from a Google seems it does. Looks promising

          • @kulprit: I've watched a couple of YouTube reviews and it seems like it's possible. Unfortunately my AliExpress order is only arriving early Jan so I won't be able to give a personal review till then.

        • Thanks for all your help. Since I want it before Christmas have decided the spO2 probably isn't worth $20 (especially since blood oxygenation shouldn't really drop on a healthy person).

If I wasn't in a rush the Amazfit is definitely a better buy

    • Yes so $39.00 + Delivery which would end up costing about the same.

      • $ 49.39 including delivery

  • What's the best option for an iPhone user and it needs to sync to Strava……… any choice without spending $500 on an Apple watch?

  • Can anyone comment on the step count accuracy vs fitbit? This is my biggest hesitation to switch.

These just go in trash pile in a months time. Don't buy garbage which you can't hold for at least couple of years. Support environment

    • My MI band 3 got no issues for 2 years so far.

On the shelf or wrist? :)
In last fee years have not seen a single individual on street wearing these. Its cheap and impulse buy but remains a piece of trash , first in your shelf and then ewaste

  • Amazing piece of technology

  • Good device among all other peers. With all features on,, battery lasts a week, exectly in my device. Haven't assesd with other types Fitbit or other though.

App has all and the device partially customise features. Eg display phone notification, eg call, can reject but not talk through, msg viewable, alerts etc and waterproof, and performing good

The best part for me is neat, wake up notification in the wrist without disturbing anyone in early morning

  • This price is on the expensive side. I got mine for like $25
