Energizer CR2016 4 Pack $1.45, 2 Pack $0.88 @ Coles

2020

This retails for $6 on Amazon and $14.99 @officeworks.

It looks like they're clearing out the Energizer range.
There was no pricetag so I had to go to the counter.
I have looked at a few other Coles today.
It might be in the battery section or located in the clearance section at the end of the laundry/pest control gondola near the freezer (i.e. the furthest corner of the store)
I have also seen 2pack cr2016 for 88 cents and cr2032 (not sure because the checkout line was too long), so please report back what you find.

I only needed 1 battery so what do with the other 3 :)

      Time to change your car.

      • +13

Always wanted an excuse to change the car. This is perfect.

      • Got get a pair of scissors or some sandpaper or something and grind it to fit?

        • +19

But then the car would have no paint left.

      • +1

You mean remote not car for the budget

    • Apparently Tiger Rice Cooker also use CR1632.

      • +3

You have a Tiger Rice Cooker that runs on a button cell battery?

        • The clock and timer runs on battery. I believe once taken out the PCB does not come up.

They recommend you to replace it and you can DIY open it up and find its a CR1632 soldered in

  • Also 2032s?

  • +2

Sweet. About time i changed mine on the calculator.

  • Not online. ? in store only

  • Just bought the cr2032 from Kmart for $5! Should have checked Coles. Anyone know how available they are in-store?

    • +1

Yes they're available in-store but they didn't have any Price tag on them, they were just sitting somewhere on the battery section. Managed to get a 4 pack 2032 for 3.50. P.S you just gotta scan at checkout.

      • Nice!! Visiting my local tomorrow then :)

  • +2

Happy to take one of those extras from you for 37 cents… that’s a 0.75 cents profit for you, so we are all happy!

  • Came here for the comments, left here with a bag full of CR2016's.

  • +4

LR43 for Donkey Kong and Oil Panic..?

  • So it's not cr2032 no idea what needs cr2016

    • Quite a common watch battery.

    • +4

2016 is half the thickness of 2032 (1.6mm vs 3.2mm). You could potentially just use a 2016 if the enclosure has a spring type connector, to though being half as big it will last half as long.

      • +1

ok interesting….in this case it has half the capacity and i expect to last half as long and cost half price as less.

This would be a read bargain if it was CR2032.

Nevertheless looks like eBay still the better the option but quality is unknown even for Panasonic or Maxell

      • -1

Should be able to use 2 batteries in that case

        • +4

No; doing this will double the voltage since you'll be putting them in series (if you connect then in parallel this would work, but that's impossible to do by stacking then on top of each other); this will probably destroy your appliance.

          • @askvictor: Haven't ever heard of overclocking have you bro?

          • @askvictor: Not impossible, but very (very) fiddly. In fact one of those “why the hell am I doing this?” jobs.

  • +1

Making room for Coles branded rubbish

  • +4

2032 as well? I need them for my scale although I am a bit too scared to weigh myself after the lockdown

    • +1

      Towel rack….

    • I have scales that also require them. A bit ridiculous that such a large item has such a small battery.

      • That's what she said

  • +1

The CR2032 is widely used in motherboards so this is good for repairs.

    • The battery will likely outlast the motherboard

  • no stock in Sydney?

  • I went to my local Coles (Greenacres, SA) but no stock. Had a look in Reject Shop next door and picked up 4x cr2032 for $3

  • Great deal op. I’d buy the cr2016’s if you wanted to sell them. No dramas if not.

    Cheers,

  • good deal. Need it for my car remote

  • Checked my local in Brisbane and there were absolutely no Energizer products left in store. Only Duracell and Coles branded batteries on the shelves

  • I think I need a cr1620 battery, talk about a confusing naming convention.

  • Hey OP, did they have a date stamp on them?

    • yes
      4pack 2016 11/27
      2pack 2032 02/28

      • Plenty of time to use then, just thought that might be the reason so cheap, thx.

        • yeh cant see it in many stores.
Looks like theyre keeping duracell and Coles brand

  • +1

    Do they have CR2025?

    • my scales notes to be using cr2025. I found some old cr2032. popped it in. no problems yet.

      • Ahahahahaha nice hack!
