MYKI Free Password Manager Version - Offline Password Manager Sync across Devices @ MYKI

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Just in case some are unaware of the FREE version of MYKI Password Manger. I have used LastPass for several years, tried Bitwarden & others but found the FREE version of MYKI suits me fine. Bitwarden is great but find it personally annoying as it has trouble with auto-fill on some websites, particularity sub-sites.

MYKI has pretty much all the paid features of a password manager and yet is free. There are subscription versions but the free works fine and includes many things that others call extras. I prefer to be in control of my passwords rather than giving them over to a third party. It uses a 6 digit pin rather than a master password which I also prefer and if used with a hello finger scanner for desktop makes it all very convenient.

The security of an offline password manager, the convenience of a cloud connected one. MYKI is an offline password manager that securely stores and syncs your sensitive data locally on your MYKI-enabled devices.

I just set all my passwords to letmein.

      Makes it easy to remember.

I set them to Password. So I can copy the label of Password. It really is a problem when some websites ask for a Passcode.

        • some websites ask for a Passcode

so then it’s 72772633… what am I missing?

Apart from the ones with validation. Those ones are Letmein1!

To make it more secure jv,
        1. Just put a 'z' between each letter eg. lzeztzmzeziznz …
        2. unless the preceding letter is a vowel, in which case you use an 'x' eg. lzextzmzexixnz …
        3. any double letter is replaced by an '&'

        • Your password does not meet the complexity requirements of this domain

This isn't really a bargain - Myki has always had a free offering so this isn't anything new.

    • Was amazed it took so long for someone to point this out :) absolutely right always been free and free is bad?

            @MMM:

should have used this as your first comment

            why?

It's only free if the PSO don't catch you jumping the gate.

  • I’ve used Myki before and they’re good but it takes forever to sync between devices which was my only problem with it. Other than that it’s pretty good.

Well, they tend to take forever to tap on and off.

  • Find one that's open source and has been vetted.

  • Can you import data from other password managers?

    • Yep, I imported from LastPass

      • What makes this different from the free version of LastPass? Just curious cause that's what I'm currently using right now

        • +1

LastPass is fine. I just find having to enter your master password everytime is annoying and would prefer they implemented a PIN, I also prefer that I am in control of my passwords as they are stored on your own storage and offline.

  • I currently have Lastpass Premium (from when you could only use on one platform for the free service). But now the Free version allows you to use mobile and PC, switching back to free only seems to remove features I don't use (like the 1GB of encrypted storage, abiloity to share with others etc).
