      i know ps3 games are not region locked. but still not sure about if the ntsc game will run exactly same as a pal game? what is the tricky part?

      You sure about that?
      For Demons Souls, NTSC copies could only play with other NTSC copies. Likewise with PAL.
      I'd say it would matter in this case unless you want to play with yanks at 200+ms.

        Demon's Souls had separated regional servers; Dark Souls has a global server.

  An excellent game. I also don't think it's as hardcore and inaccessible as the reviews and hype make it out to be, so if you haven't played Demon's Souls you'll be fine. It has an extremely solid combat system and the recent patch makes pvp more closely matched, as well as generally making the game easier to navigate and complete particularly for players new to the franchise. I highly recommend it. And you do not have to be a hardcore RPG player.
