    Be prepared to follow up when Shopback don't track the cashback properly. Have had to lodge a query for this exact deal from last week (and yes, I made sure I followed every single fricken condition!)

    I take several screenshots every time I do a worthwhile Shopback cashback these days.

      I've never had a problem with Shopback. Regularly have to contact Cashrewards for untracked purchases though.

      • Agree. Cashrewards is definitely faulty, closed my account with them after over 6 years. Their Android app is crap and it was never fixed.

      V true. Going through an 'appeal' through SB for similar promotion with first liquor, which was also 20% cashback or so

        Exact same "appeal" with First Choice. Doubt it will be successful, as the knock back email says - We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the Cashback along to you.
        What a joke. How can these shopback promotions be considered a bargain when there is a good chance you wont get the cashback?

          Exactly the same with the same promo. It feels scammy. Being appealed apparently.

          I normally like to treat cashback as complimentary to a good price rather than rely on it to achieve the good price, I value a bird in the hand rather than waiting months to recoup some extra savings that also has a chance of being rejected with no recourse. For example I want another slab of Great Northern, Liquorland price is $50 a slab which comes down to $39 after cashback, or I can get it at Dans for $44.80. I'll get it at Dan's instead.

      Same thing happened to me and then it took 3-6 months for them to "verify" the cashback. What a crock of s….
      This was before the whole security breach and I got negged into oblivion when I posted about it on OzB.

      Having exactly the same issue with my First Choice cashback. I'm not saying it never works. But flip a coin. I really think Shopback promos should be banned from Ozbargain until they can demonstrate a successful system.

      I never seem to have any issues? Got to say that having to wait over 2 months for some CB's is shit though.

      I'm going through this as well, was super careful to follow their rules and ensure tracker icon was happy etc… not tracked, reported it, been told inelligable… I only ordered for the f'ing promo cash back… Who can we complain to? Advertising a cash back then not giving has to be dodgy…

    • Whilst I have previously had many problems with Shopback, they have been tracking OK for me recently. Problems, though, have recently emerged fo rme with Cashrewards.

      In any case, screen shots are always advised.

    • I did it through the app with content blocks and Adblock turned off on iOS and it tracked

    • One tip I took away from both CR and SB support is to update the app before buying anything.

      I normally don't update my apps often. So might help.

      I just started using SB (not impressed with Cashrewards 'targetted offer BS'.. I'm not going to waste my time with those games TA! and so far SB have tracked 8/8. Proof will be in the pudding when they actually pay out.

    • Good luck with ShopBack. They will not track once you have higher amounts. 2% will always get tracked, but not 20% or more. They had my click history showing in my app but nothing in the desktop mode. Upon submitting a claim, they denied the claim.

      yep, just got this reply after last 20% discount "Thank you for submitting a missing Cashback claim.

      We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the Cashback along to you.

      That said, we know how frustrating missing Cashback can be, and will now take additional steps to appeal on your behalf directly with First Choice Liquor.

      Please allow us some time for this to happen, this process can take up to 35 days depending on how fast we hear back from First Choice Liquor.

        "Hey we're having a Shopback promotion on First Choice Liquor. Here are the exclusions. But there may be more random and arbitrary exclusions that we won't tell you of. In other words, you probably won't get the cash back but hey, don't let that stop us from getting onto the front page of Ozbargain".

    No doubt that CR is far more superior than SB in tracking based on the consensus of reviews on the net .
    On top of that TA will chase up complaints whilst noygotyourback is no where in sight most of the time .

      Put the data breach aside, CR and SB are on par when it comes to tracking. I agree, however, when you do have an issue, CR is heaps better because TA is on site to help you.

      • Yeah my experience is that they both have similar failure rates for tracking, but Cashrewards actually investigates when you lodge a claim. ShopBack just wait a day or 2 and send a stock 'you did something wrong' email.

    So I purchased on 11/12 (5 days ago), but on the card it's billed only yesterday (1 day ago, previously the transaction was "pending", I guess). Do I wait or do I "Report a Missing Cashback"?

    Should I keep using Shopback? That was my first transaction via it.

      This has nothing to do with SB. The problem is with Liquorland. How the hell did it take 4 days to bill you after you placed your order? SB can't track your purchase until Liquorland reported it to SB.

    What I have had issues with is the bonus flybuys not being credited.

    • That seems to have happened with my order last week (bonus flybuys not being tracked). Is it easy to get this resolved through flybuys (haven't contacted them myself yet but have tried chasing up Woolies rewards in the past which was a pain)?

    What's to say they will honor this? They are flat out refusing to honor the $60 cashback for the amaysim deal from black friday.

    WIll never be buying anything based on their cashback deals again.

    Hendrick's gin on special for $68 a bottle, so with cashback is a bargain.

    • Not as good as Hendricks but still a decent drop is Tanqueray 1L @ $60 less 22% is $46.80. I snaffled 2 last week when Liquorland had their XMASSORTED code ($10 off) and SB with 22% off and got free delivery to boot :)

  • Tracking worked ok for me for the Liquorland deal from Last Friday (11th Dec), with delay of about 4 hours. Although it's still not shipped from Liquorland. It's still within their 5 day delivery window, but I wouldn't be relying on them for my christmas drinks.

      Their shipping is so slow, shipped 4 days ago and hasn't even moved and coming from Perth! I don't know why I didn't just C&C. Lucky it's not wine, otherwise heat destroys it.

    All, I would caution anyone contempalting this deal to be cautious. I purchaed the 25% off as per this link https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/587060 on the 30/11/2020 and the purchase was tracked but no amount was showm, and on follow up I was advised that " Thank you for submitting a missing Cashback claim.

    On then following up with Liquorland the customer service agent satated that Liquorland have no commision deal with Shopback and that they had had a number of complaints similar to mine.

    I have advised Liqourland that unless this is resolved, I will be returning the purchases, as they were made under false represenation and provided them with the various eamils and proof. However, I'm only doing this as a matetr of principle as a true Ozbargainer, but the hassle involved is not worth it. By the way the same applies to a purchse amde a few dasy aletr at FirstChoice.

    My other experiences with Shopback have been better and in most cases the tracking and refunds worked. It seems there may be some communication issue between Wesfarmers (Liquorland and FirstChoice) and Shopback.

        Thats my plan. I wouldn't have ordered from Liquorland if it wasn't for the cashback offer. If it doesn't get tracked, I'll cancel the order.

          Mine has just tracked. 4 hrs and 40 mins after ordering.

  • Is anyone having issues with delays from Liquorland? I made my order on the same of this promotion, I've received my cashback just fine but my order still hasn't been sent out.
