Catch = Worst Customer Experience Ever. Missing TV! Possible Fraud?

I ordered a TV from Catch one night and realized that the TV I ordered was not suitable for what I need. I called Catch the next day on Sunday to cancel the order while the order was still being prepared and a representative told me that she can no longer cancel it since it was currently being prepared. Mind you it was a Sunday, I was sure the TV would be dispatched on Monday the earliest (and it did). I was appalled that she can't cancel my order at that time. She informed me that I should just decline the delivery when the delivery is being made. On the 3rd of December, the courier called me while I was at work I told him to return it to the sender and I thought that would be the end of the story. I called again a couple of days later to ask for my refund only for the representative tell me that they need to receive it in their warehouse first before refunding it. I thought to myself, fair enough I am not in a rush or anything for the refund I should be receiving a refund confirmation soon.

A few days ago, I checked on the current status of this order only to find out it was successfully delivered on the 9th of December in the morning while I was at home babysitting my son. I never received any phone call or heard anyone rang my unit to deliver a TV that morning. Mind you, I never called Catch or Allied Express to have this TV be redelivered to my place. Even the tracking number shows that it was refused the first time it was attempted for delivery. The second delivery was signed by someone I do not know. There is no receptionist inside my building, the mailboxes area have signs plastered with "Do Not Leave Packages Here" because there have been many reports of parcel thefts in my building.

I read some reviews about Allied Express on Google only to find out they have a bad rep in leaving parcels/packages behind.

I called Catch and they have told me that it is currently being reviewed. I have also asked my building manager for CCTV footage for that morning in which the delivery was successfully delivered. I don't have the footage yet but when I do I hope that I know whether or not the TV was accepted by someone in my building.

It has been a few days since they told me they are reviewing the case. I have called Catch to get to the bottom of this only for them to tell me that it is still under review.

Summary:
1. Catch cancellation policy is RIDICULOUS. The only way to cancel is to contact them via email or phone and they are both useless since they rather send you the item first rather cancelling the order on the spot. I am completely disappointed at Catch and probably would take my money to Amazon next time I buy anything online.
2. The courier, Allied Express, dodgy courier that I never heard of. I am still not sure whose bright idea was it to have it redelivered when clearly the first attempt was declined. I took a screenshot of it just in case they try to change the information listed on their website.

What should I do next?

EDIT: ALL GOOD NOW.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the feedback.

Ask to speak to the CEO of allied express and state you were home and it was not delivered and it was supposed to be sent back to catch instead.

Excellent advice. Do you have his home number?

I was appalled that she can't cancel my order at that time.

Seen this a few times now on here. Do you think people are just on standby to help take action whenever you decide to change your mind. There are processes and procedures companies have to go through. The lady on the phone in the customer service team probably isn't on the warehouse floor to action your request straight away. The warehouse team have a list of actions to do and disruptions may not be feasible and would affect the overall work flow.

Catch cancellation policy is RIDICULOUS. The only way to cancel is to contact them via email or phone…

Stop supporting companies with poor customer service then. You're chasing those small savings, it's got to come out from somewhere…

If I tried to cancel it on a weekday, I would not be too fussy about it. It was a Sunday and I don't see why this would be a problem considering Catch didn't dispatch the order until late Monday afternoon.

It doesn't matter what day it is, there's an automated system and processes they have setup for dozens/hundreds/thousands of orders to process. You would be disrupting those for a change of mind.

Couldn't care less about Catch, never ordered from them and never will, but what you're expecting is not reasonable.

Is it possible to just refuse a delivery back to sender?. Personally never did it myself. With amazon ive always excepted the delivery, applied for a ra, then send it that way they requested during the return process.

    • Yeah, just ask the courier to leave at the post office. When you go to the post office, just tell them that you want it to be returned to the sender. No need to print another label.

  • Why would you follow the advice of someone who refuses to cancel your order, if you refuse the delivery there is a policy in place by the delivery company to resend it at least 2 more times. The delivery driver probably got pissed off you refused delivery the 1st time and just left it outside for you. Which by then someone else took it.

Catch = Worst Customer Experience Ever
Take some responsibility for your actions. You're not fault-free in this. You should be deciding whether or not you need something BEFORE you complete the order process, instead of relying on a company with questionable customer service. Once you submit the order, it should be considered final.

Lol so your upset at catch for actually delivering an item YOU ordered? Which YOU should have researched before making the purchase.

    Catch cancellation policy is RIDICULOUS.

You wanted to do a return under change of mind. They don't have to accept a return for this.

The courier, Allied Express, dodgy courier that I never heard of.

haha so because you haven't heard of them, they must be dodgy. These guys have been around for a very long time.

I ordered a TV from Catch one night

Maybe don't do late night impulse shopping next time and you won't have any issues?

to find out it was successfully delivered on the 9th of December

Are you sure this isn't part of the return to sender? ie them signing for it when it arrives back?

I read some reviews about Allied Express on Google only to find out they have a bad rep in leaving parcels/packages behind.

Oh come on. Pick any delivery company and they have bad reviews.

  • Is it really baby sitting if the child is yours? You don't deserve a refund just for that.

  • Lol OP probably wasn’t expecting to get flamed so hard in his thread
