Decent MOBO for the price. I was tossing up between this and the MSI X570 Tomahawk, but I'll wait till I can actually get a CPU

    • same here

Though since this is from USA, warranty return might be a pain. I think I'd rather buy locally.

I hear you, holding on for the r5 5600, grabbed an r5 2600 for $200 until things get real.
I would have got an r3 3300x for $200 but oos. when in rome

    • Yes need to be able to grab a CPU first

    • I got the MSI X570 Tomahawk from last deal and i found current bios is not stable. Random turning off or missing Bluetooth. I am sure there will be patch to it but it is pain in the ass.

      • That is a memory issue. Most people don't realise that the 3000 series is not compatible with certain RAM speeds. I bet you have a 3000 series CPU and running xmp at maybe 3600mhz?

I think the MSI X570 Tomahawk is newer and better?

      • Yes. But also more expensive. So it will come down to what you need/want for your budget. If you can afford it, definitely get the Tomahawk.

        • Yeah agreed. If you want great wifi, BT, two at m.2 PCIe 4.0 and want to overclock then then the Tomahawk is worth the extra money.

got my heart set on the 5900x, would normally jump on a deal like this but who knows when that cpu is going to land? Also leaving options open as some stores will only bundle with a mobo
Are there decent boards without wifi?

    • If you don't need/want wifi, look a the MSI B550 Tomahawk, unless you REALLY need two PCI-E 4.0 and two M.2 slots. (I think it only has 1 of each, the others are 3.0)

      • yeah 2 M2 slots would be good unfortunately :( its weird how wireless is such a big deal - I would have thought gamers would go out of their way for cabled? RGB isnt high on the list either - will keep looking (havent look hard yet to be honest) was going to do that in earnest once stock was available!

      • The B550 is a very cut down version the VRM is not the high quality components of the x570. If you want a B550 board then look at Asus and Gigabyte. And ASRock if budget is tight.

  • seems like mb are on sale on amazon.
Not sure if we should wait till boxing day thought

computer alliance always has a 20% deal on their ebay.

  • I have one of these, its a nice mobo :) good price!

    • Me too, bought locally though centrecom and FYI needed a flash to support the 5800x cpu, unless you have a pre zen3

    • Same.

I've got everything for my next PC build ready to go except the most important bit, the CPU - hopefully secure a 5950X in the next week or two.

Good mobo. Been rock solid since day 1 with a 3900x.

Decent motherboard, just be aware it has no BIOS Flashback feature, so if you're looking to go for a 5000 series CPU, you will need to sort out something to upgrade the BIOS using an older Ryzen CPU.

Hi, a little confused here. The item listing says Zen 3 5000? Why would the board not be 5000 ready? I. E. Should work with a 5600x out of box?

      • +1

No, this board came out before the Zen3 was released. You will need to update the mobo for it to be compatible, you have to use an older cpu to get the bios update. SMH

    • I bought the Wifi variant, I run mostly cabled but its come in handy more than once.

  • Asus Tuf X570 Wifi is sub $280
