I can vouch for this great vaccum cleaner. German built, powerful suction, bagless, and very quiet when on.

    • Thanks for the info, was wondering how it performed compared to their bagged ones.

Don't suppose you have used a Dyson and can compare to that?

Looks like this is $509 in https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/miele-10502220-c…, with 3.5 cashback

    • Thanks, I have updated the deal. The net price now comes down to $489 with the hack mentioned in the description above.

  • comments on the bagged version? i've not used bagged vacuums before. I am sick of cutting out hair stuck to the bagless ones…

    • My friend was saying that the replacement bags are way expensive here compared to Japan where he lived before.

      • I bought the Miele C3 for the bargain going back a few months of $280 - such a great bargain!

I prefer bagged vacuums. I bought a 16 pack of bags - not too expensive. I'm still on my first after a few months.

        • I paid about the same for mine, brilliant vac. I don't have bags though so I might grab those now, cheers!

        • I tried looking for the c3 and it’s giving me a headache. Which model has all the bells and whistles?

What’s the difference between cat and dog and the complete family? :/

Do they have a motorised turbobrush?

          • @slowmo: Usually maybe HEPA filter included or not. Motorised filter or not.

    • Always use bag because like you said picking hairs out of the barrel and keep emptying constantly is not fun. Before any one says the bag are expensive. They are not, think how often you change the bag? Each bag should last around 8-12 months before changing and that is vacuuming at lease 3-4 times a week. Each bag cost about $4, less if you buy in bulk.

I have two dogs and a cat. I went bagless (Dyson) because if the vac doing its job, there's no way a bag is lasting more than a few weeks.

If you bought a pet vacuum to vacuum your spotless 1 bdr inner acity apartment hardfloors, more power to you. There's no way anyone with even one pet is getting 12 months use out of one vac bag though.

      • Thanks where do you source the bags?

  • Have this at home but it never gets used. It's way too heavy, big and cumbersome to use. We just use cordless stick vaccum and robot vaccum.
It is very powerful, but no point if it's too much of a hassle to use.

No cordless or robot vacuum will come close to suction of a decent Miele or similar bagged vacuum.

Continual use of robot or stick vacuum will over time mean carpets aren't getting properly cleaned. They are good in-between vacuums but cannot compete as a complete replacement IMO.

I beg to differ. With carpets, the head is more important than downright suction to get the dirt and debris out.
Have you used recent cordless vaccums? They are perfectly capable. Corded vacuums are redundant IMO. I personally can't be bothered pushing that massive thing around the house, up and down the stairs. When you are lugging this thing around, there's also the risk of it bumping into your furniture and walls and leaving marks.

My brother who used to be like you recently purchased a Dreame cordless vacuum and he's been converted.

        Spot on 100%

Agreed, this is our strategy. I have an older bagged version of this and it's great. We use a cordless stick vacuum (which isn't bad, some sort of LG CordZero) most of the time, then periodically use the Miele to clean things properly - it's vastly better.

  • I've got this vacuum and it is brilliant. Moved from a MIele C3 and the bagless is easier to manage.

    • Care to share why it’s easier to manage? Cheaper running costs for sure.

  • Is it possible to get the C3 Cat and Dog with a HEPA filter?

    • Can buy hepa or charcoal filter as they are interchangeable

      • Oh they are not combined? So it’s an either or?

    • You can buy HEPA filter fornthe C3 separately :)

  • Miele blizzard Cx1 cat and dog did just averagely in choice tests. It is definitely not one of their recommended vacuums.

Compared to the Miele c3 which is recommended vacuum.

The Miele c3 gets score of 79% for deep or complete carpet clean

Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Scores high 60’s% range for deep or complete carpet clean. Which placed it around middle of the pack of 43 other upright and canister vacuums Choice tested this year.
