Crazy to see the day where sata ssd is more expensive than nvme ssd

    • Interesting topic you've brought up here.

Is it simply due to material costs? -As 2.5 inch SATA's are much larger and therefore need more grams of material to build compared to NVME's? -Cost?

Or did manufacturers screw up and make too many NVME's so they had to drive prices down? -Supply?

Or is it because most desktop motherboards are limited to 1~2 NVME drives, but usually have 3 or more SATA drive connections available, therefore over the span of the general population, making SATA SSD's more sought after and having higher demand compared to NVME's? -Demand?

Whatever the reason, we've definitely hit a very interesting time period with technology.

    • Only got SATA2 SATA3 ports on my laptop. I have no choice! LOL

  • Was wondering if anyone got their samsung cashback yet?

    • Yes, after lots of back and forth. With ‘invalid’ serials and whatnot.

    • Samsung seems to have had serial code problems not just with the cashback but with MANY other promotions too in the past. Even just 5 minutes of Google would give you a good idea. You will most likely have to do some keyboard battles with their support team.

    • I got mine a few weeks ago. Took a while but it did come.

    • I think around 1 week. The current AC promotion even faster - 2 days.

  • definitely a good deal!

  • Just purchased one, thx.
Use this mx500 to replace the old wd 1t hard drive. And bought a new CPU fan.
This would be the last time upgrade my old laptop before I buy a new one.
