    Interesting topic you've brought up here.

    Is it simply due to material costs? -As 2.5 inch SATA's are much larger and therefore need more grams of material to build compared to NVME's? -Cost?

    Or did manufacturers screw up and make too many NVME's so they had to drive prices down? -Supply?

    Or is it because most desktop motherboards are limited to 1~2 NVME drives, but usually have 3 or more SATA drive connections available, therefore over the span of the general population, making SATA SSD's more sought after and having higher demand compared to NVME's? -Demand?

    Whatever the reason, we've definitely hit a very interesting time period with technology.

    Samsung seems to have had serial code problems not just with the cashback but with MANY other promotions too in the past. Even just 5 minutes of Google would give you a good idea. You will most likely have to do some keyboard battles with their support team.

  Just purchased one, thx.
  Use this mx500 to replace the old wd 1t hard drive. And bought a new CPU fan.
  This would be the last time upgrade my old laptop before I buy a new one.
