  • Bought this for 350 at the black friday sales on eBay… Good system for the money, but will it be cheaper in the future?

Would be good if it had face detection.

    • Did you need to organise an electrician to install it for you?
      Thanks in advance!

      • It just use Poe so just you only need to run network cable, so I guess it depends how and were you mount them, and where it's legal to run network cable.

So basically not really, I think you need an electrician if you run it down your wall cavities

        • If you know how you can DIY no electrician is needed, it is 12v max. I run the cable from the window to outside of the house.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: Isn't Poe 24/48V?

Still shouldn't need a license for ethernet tho.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: Technically in the nanny country of Australia you need a registered cabler for any structural cable work. Yet in NZ who follow the same AUSNZ standard you work on hV yourself šŸ˜‚

      • technically….Any under-floor, in-wall or in-roof cabling must be done by a registered cabler.

Anything temp like running it along the skirting boards or under a mat or carpet is ok for DIY.

    • This is currently $293 US from the Reolink website right now. Unless I have missed something. $293 converts to about $388 AUD.

      • i looked at that as well…when you add it to a cart it will add 10% GST, so takes it to about $425AUD

        • DAMN! - I have added things to my cart many times (always procrastinating) and never noticed the GST. Thanks.

OK, I got one more. The Reolink Ebay store sells it for $449.95 and they have a Christmas special which for that item which is $50 off for every $299 spent. Should bring the price to $400 with free shipping.

  • Does this recorder work with other cameras? I have a couple of Hikvision cameras. Was going to get a couple more cameras and some extra storage (Blue Iris and PC), but this might make a neater solution.

    • Hi. It would depend on the network protocol, which the camera and NVR support should be compatible with each other.

  • Is there an option to add a couple of more camera's…6 in total? And what's the max HDD you can swap into the NVR?

    • Yes. It's an 8-channel NVR, so you can add extra 4 cameras. And it has pre-installed 2TB HDD, you can add one external 4TB HDD via its e-SATA port.

  • Showing as $449 for me

    • add coupon FXODCHQS

      • Cheers

    • Hi. Please do apply the extra code when checking out.

  • So you don't have a similar price for a same spec system with bullet cameras? Or do older 1080p bullet cameras work on this system?

    • If it's Eco the battery camera that you mentioned, I am afraid not. But it can be viewed on your phone app and record to a micro SD card.
RLK8-410B4 is not running the best deal currently on Amazon, but you can apply the coupon to save.

  • Another Chinese disruptor, Reolink, is gaining attention. This one is selling direct from its own website, with fulfillment by Amazon

    • Hi, I don't quite get what do you mean.
This deal is in Amazon, please check.

      • I want to mention this brand is from China.
Using Chinese brand ip camera may violate your privacy

        • Annnnnnd the 2 biggest manufacturers for both dometic and commercial are also Chinese soooo take your tin foil hat elsewhere
