    • True, for some reason when I clicked on jb earlier, was showing me $349. Oh well, guess for an extra $5 you get it delivered via Amazon.

Definitely. Might be good for people that have the JB HiFi gift cards though, there are some $500 ones from going on a phone plan.

      • cheaper with cashback?

  • Is this a robust home security system? I reckon it is not since it does not have 24/7 recording?
New to home security, any advice appreciated.

This one does not even have a camera, nor a siren to deter thefts. It rely on WIFI to send you notification when the sensors are triggered. If I were to break in to a house, I will first cut off the power from the metre box. Without power and WIFI, this thing won't work at all.
For security, the minimum should at lease include a sensor, a siren, and back up battery. I don't see why it need a keypad, a remote works better, it will be just on and off.
Cameras can record to local storage or upload to network but it won't deter thefts.
Monthly subscription is just to pay someone else to call you or call the police when they receive an notification.

I reckon this $40 kit works better and simpler to use.

      • Without power and WIFI, this thing won't work at all.

A UPS will take care of that. No need for a fancy one, a $100 one will do.

I wouldn't rely on this or any wireless cameras if I wanted security. I have the camera kit but using as an intercom for the front door for when I'm away from home. Note that the siren on these aren't loud at all.

  • I wouldn’t recommend a cheap home alarm system TBH. Replaced a cheap system with a Bosch 6000 and it is miles better by comparison - with pet safe PIRs it can be on even when the dog is home. No more false alarms either.

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to add wireless cameras to this home base ?

    • Yes you can
