Just keep in mind that you might need a Ryzen 1st / 2nd gen if you want to flash this to work with newer chips?

      • +4

That's great, but that's a completely different board, from a different manufacturer.

        • -3

It's another B450 for reference to what that chipset is capable of doing atm, I was specific about it being a different board, I'm just trying to explain that it's technically possible for this board if Gigabyte puts the work in.

Why are people downvoting that ffs.

@Jimbuscus: Because you answer adds nothing useful to the previous comment and can easily be taken to mean something by people who aren't familiar with the state of things.

rare to have 4 dimm slots at this price

    Also Engrish:

Not Support AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series waiting for Upgrade

    Also Gigabyte:

    Bios F60e
    1‎0.44 MB
2‎020/12/09 Update AGESA ComboV2 1.1.0.0 D for AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU support

But yeah need to work out what bios comes with the unit. Could be on a sticker on the bios chip.

    • Thanks for the info! Yeah the Gigabyte website says it can support 5000 series, might need an BIOS update for old stocks.

      • +2

I would say at this point it's close to a definite that it needs a bios update for 5000 series…

  • bought at least 5 of these for ryzen 3600 builds, all working very well.

    • +6

yeah as a board this is basic as hell with some ordinary VRMs… be that as it may… its a damn site better than whatever nonsense Techfast is using!

Yea for a ryzen 3600, or future bios update to support 5600x, this is more than capable, its cheap but doesn’t mean it is crap.

        • Does it work with 3600 out of the box or you have to update the bio with an older CPU?

      • +1

Best FETs are ones that do the job IMO this board is fine for a 65w processor like the 3600

  • heh. Nice price ;)

  • How do you guys deal with the delivery fee? Has anyone tried to share it with someone?

    • They sometimes have promotions on some items for free delivery which carries across to all items in your cart (I'm fairly sure), so if you are in the market for something else they're selling with a free delivery promo not a bad op to look at that.

      • Wow thanks for the info! I do saw something with free shipping but didn't know that will carry everything in the cart. Thanks mate!

        • its bascially $10 shipping so brings it up to $80 total

          still not too bad IMO

I think the having only 4x SATA ports is a shame for me but I probably have more HDDs/SSDs than most. Someone on Reddit had one of these motherboards with a 5600x CPU and was running fine for them though.

Get a 2 to 2.75 slots gpu, add an extension for sata in the other x16 slot

  • M.2 Sockets: 1

    a deal breaker for me.

  • Slightly cheaper B450 here and can pick up, but may be worth the extra for the Gigabyte board.

    best price
