    I definitely see this as a sign of quality.
    Any cheap variations will be light and won't last long.
    My previous Wahl "heavy" clippers are still going strong after having them for about 15 years.
    I only upgraded to these because my current ones don't have the blade lever functionality, to adjust cut length.
    Plus - heavier will have you working out those guns while you cut hair ;-)
