Please explain which part is fake.
Recently watched person break open KZ IEM and test each individual driver and all worked properly and produce sound, so when they claim 8BA driver etc it is real functioning IEM.

It's all real but they just do a wack job of throwing in a bunch of drivers and hoping it sounds amazing.

  • What the hell are these

anythings an adult toy if you're adventurous enough.

Ouch you keep telling yourself that

i got a pair of these and some of the rest of the KZ range. bloody quality that's all i can say.

    • +2

I have a pair of KZ ZS10 PRO. They are very well constructed, and after burn in they sound fantastic.

  • +1

KZ were the first brand that put Chi-Fi on the map for me, since getting the Blon BL03 and the BL05, I haven't come across a KZ that I'm excited about trying out.

I don't own any of their earphones but from researching all their models they are all decent for cheap earphones. However, the tuning done on their drivers is what really brings them down. There are probably better options in this price range.

  • What a ghastly looking set of earphones

  • I have the KZ ZS10 Pro What's the difference between those and these?

    • KZ ZS10 Pros have 10 drivers (4BAs and 1DD in each of the earphones) and are more expensive. KZ ZSN PROs have 4 drivers (1BA and 1DD in each earphone). The KZ ZS10 PROs sound better

      • Well damn.. I bought these. Maybe I'll use these as a backup or something

Like most Chinese Head-fi gears. The KZ are over hyped with many questionable reviews and under cut many original IEM companies. Got a pair of ZSX after seeing amazing reviews etc. They sounds much better than the standard free one from your mobile. Tried them with LG v40, Shanling m5s and Schiit Heresy. It tuned to have more treble and mids. Overall, they sounds harsh and lacking in bass and somewhat artificial.

I don't have the ZSX. I have the ZS10 PRO. Out of the box, they sound very bright or even harsh, but after 200 hours burn in and swapping the rubber tips with memory foam tips, they now sound considerably better with some EQing. I find they are especially good with female vocals, classical music, jazz and blues

Dude, why are you comparing a headphone that costs $50 max (ZSX), with something that costs $500? Maybe the question shoukd be at the same $50, what can beat it from LG or Shanling?

    • Had them since May, they do sound better after burn in but not much. The Gold/silver upgrade cable improves the warm a little. Good for casual listening on the bus etc but definitely not head-fi level or all the hype it made up to be.

Yes, they sound a lot better than most ~$50 headphones, but that what a lot of Chinese companies are doing to under cut the original company as their R&D is next to nothing.

What they're doing here is produce specs almost at head-fi level to the masses at a very low price point with decent quality which is their point of differentiation. Same as what Xiaomi is doing with mid to high spec phones at affordable prices which works. I would not necessarily agree that there is no R&D, but they're probably more like a Toyota than a Tesla which there's nothing wrong with. There are people who want cutting edge premium products, others want value for money. Personally me I'm not interested in that last 1% gain so this is good enough for me.

        • Toyota spends significant effort on R&D.
It’s more like Jiangling, Dongfeng, FAW, Geely and Briliance.

For anyone intrigued by these, KZ have a huge range or earphones which are usually be used for musicians needing IEM's live or for personal leisure. I can't speak for this model but own the KZ AS10's which are amazing performers for the price. I play bass guitar and they hold up extremely well in reproducing low end. They are also good for casual playback, but I prefer over ear headphones.

  • +1

I have owned 2 other models of the KZ earphones which deliver sound similar to big brands that costs hundreds more. It's not for brand snobs (if you buy a Vitamix instead of an OEM cough cough), but they are excellent value for money. At their price range, very few brands are better.
