I got my email from them at 9:09am and tried to buy around the time that it was posted on Ozbargain (didn't know that at the time). Here's the message I got:

"Unfortunately we do not have that many tickets available for purchase, as all tickets are either currently on hold or sold out. Please go back and try again as tickets may be released again for sale."

I would have preferred Hoyts anyway.

  • Sold out already :(

Sold out! This didn't even have the chance to get ozbargained, they just didn't have any stock.

  • its an imperfect system by mastercard

  • Now it says.

Unfortunately we do not have that many tickets available for purchase, as all tickets are either currently on hold or sold out. Please go back and try again as tickets may be released again for sale.

    • Thanks for the link

Crap on a stick. And I was hanging out for this too - been checking the site once every few weeks to see when it would come up, and I missed it :-(

    • u can blame ozbargain for that

    • +4

u need to check every minutes 24/7

  • Unfortunately we do not have that many tickets available for purchase, as all tickets are either currently on hold or sold out. Please go back and try again as tickets may be released again for sale.

    confirmed

    • I've got this message about 50 times so I think that it is definitely over.

      • Agreed. That being said, I've just checked through the website and the tickets can be purchased at $110. I'm guessing there were a limited run with the expiry ending in 6 months

        • All their tickets expire within 6 months, not just the one on sale.

  • The Mastercard Applause website is currently unavailable due to high traffic.

Please try again soon. We apologise for any inconvenience.

    • same - been trying for 15 mins but I think I've missed out

    • +1

Been trying continuously for at least an hour. I am sure my boss will appreciate it if I can actually start working instead.

    • The same! Trying for almost an hour… Still no luck

  • +1

This feels like the Yellow Pages Bunnings deal all over again.

I will not try to spend hours of my day spamming web pages again….well, I'll give it another hour but THATS it. :-)

  • +1

Called them and they said they were all gone

  • I only got the email 15 minutes ago… :(

  • Why are people voting this deal up if they can't place the order?

    • they vote it up because they got it perhaps?

      • I doubt 40 got through, maybe 5-10 max. Even the first commenter failed to get through.

I hope Mastercard fix the problem and bring the deal back by tomorrow. They are too big a company to play the bait 'n' switch game.

    • +2

I didn't get the deal…but I voted it up because it is still a bargain for those who were lucky enough to get it

  • Unfortunately, we have sold out of our allocation of tickets for this event.

  • wasted 5 mins of my life for nothing. time they get better servers if they can't handle bursts of traffic.

  • Remember you will need to add your Vmax ($3) & 3D ($3) & glasses ($1) surcharges…

but still cheaper than $25+ for an Event George Street Vmax 3D movie if you walked in!

  • i should've checked ozbargain earlier. i actually received the email at 9:06 this morning, but i didnt check my email until now. bad luck.

  • When will they e having more in stock? :)

    • Same time next year, if the past is anything to go by.

  • Next year… thought they will be restocking >:(

    • They have stock… just at the normal price of $108 :-)
