    5K2K Monitor…
    Overall 5K pixels

    Isn't it 5K1.4K, and overall 7MP? 😆

    • Technically that nomenclature is in reference to the horizontal resolution, so 5K2K is total nonsense (unless you're trying to refer to 10K), but it's a cinematic term.

I got a G9 from Harvey Norman on Balck Friday for $2189 plus $100 gift card.

      • hopefully they have it again on new year

      • totally missed it. did someone post on ozbargain?

how do you like the G9? any issues so far?

      • @spoolax sorry forget to tag you on my question

  • Aspect ratio is hipster friendly 16 : 4.5 !

I wish we had a system that would just go by pixels. This display has 7.3M pixels, a standard 1440p monitor has 3.6 million pixels, standard 4k has 8.3M pixels.

    • We all wish we could drive a combine harvester through the marketing department but Christmas is over.

    • None of the OW stores have any stock though, so I dont think they will pricematch?

  • Any good Sony deals?

One of the best ultrawide. Need 3070 or better gpu to run it smoothly on recent games. G9 also great but g9 has some issues.

if money's no issue, you want this. But the later is for the budget-conscious bang for buck features.

I have this monitor and can confirm it is amazing :D, i could never go back to anything smaller.

  • Just bought this on Tuesday at CentreCom for $1899.
Don't mind having paid to extra to get it there and then in person.

Can confirm this monitor is amazing.
For anyone reading the above comments rest assured this is comparable to the newer model for sure. 140hz rather than 240hz but shouldn't make a difference to average player.

I am still running a GTX 1060 and can manage playable framerates in most games.
I figured I'd buy the monitor first since I can't get my hands on a 3080.

    Awesome monitor.

    • Hows the pixel density, would be quite average but depends what your use to?

      • Honestly not that bad.
It's still a huge upgrade from the viewsonic monitors I was previously using.
Colours look great and contrast is fantastic.

        • +1

Its about a 108 PPI which is okay just depends on how close your sitting. Enjoy!

  • Apparently this is around $1500 on TGG Commercial.

    • +2

Can confirm it’s $1486 for the LC49RG90SSEXXY on TGG Commercial

  • This or one of those 38 inch alien ware ones?

  • +1

I am not saying this is not a good monitor but you can also consider the 38 inch Alienware AW3821DW:
    1) IPS vs VA
    2) Gsync module (dubious benefits but still)
    3) a better ratio (debatable) for most games.
    4) 144Hz vs 120Hz

This one has proper HDR probably compared to the AW3821DW

You can still get the Dell for $1820 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/595142 with shipping included.

  • This LC49RG90SSEXXY screen has the lot:

    Ultra wide
    49"
    Fully adjustable
    Easy to position
    Flexible input methods
    … etc.

Good for 99% of uses, no doubt :-D

  • How do you get it for 1500 on the The Good Guys Commercial?

    • you need to be able to register for it - I can do it through work - if you work with affiliated companies - non for profit etc

  • For the non gamer, how will this shape up vs. my Xiaomi 34" …I use HDMI into it from my laptop and only for work, but the resolution is exceptional on the Xiaomi… Is this just same content, bigger screen, or…?

    • +1

Same pixel density (110 ppi) on a wider screen; the resolution is higher in width dimension to accommodate the wider screen. It would be like using your xiaomi but it is significantly wider with no change in height. No loss of detail due to resolution. Many of the other specs are generally similar.

A quick google search says hdmi isn't capable of squeezing all the performance out of this monitor. Youd be locked in at 60hz. Maybe if your laptop has a display port adapter it'd be a decent pick up.

      • Brilliant. So greatly appreciated. Thank you very much

  • Looks like you cant get 5% off at Officeworks as none of their stores show it as in stock. They only match for items they have in stock I believe?
They do offer it for sale though, perhaps they just dropship.
