    DIY mahjong table?

    • For kids

      • +2

        Good to start from young

    • if you have tiny tiny tiles

  • +3

IKEA legit made me think that they did a collab with LEGO and released a table with the plate built in.

    • +3

Well they do have a collab, it's out in IKEA overseas and coming to IKEA AU in the next few months. But yeah it's not a table though lol.

  • +7

The weight of the Lego would probably cause the table to collapse

    • +1

That's believable. It's essentially cardboard on the inside.

      • +4

It's rated for 25kg, so while it's not great it's still a surprising amount

      • +2

Why the downvote? Have you ever cut a Lack table in half? I did. It's made of cardboard with strategically placed wooden parts. Not necessarily a bad thing but that's how they can sell it so cheap.

        • +1

I had two of them out in the rain for two winters straight and it held up. That being said, wouldn't really get one again.

        • +1

          it wasn't originally that hollow.
if you look up the lack racks sites, there were a few 'improvements' over the years by ikea, and the more recent one are less suitable to be used for racking hacks.

          • +1

@slowmo: Yeah Lack Racks used to be a thing before they made them shittier quality.

        • +6

          So the table is… Lacking?

    • +1

      These tables are surprisingly sturdy.

  • It is actually $9.99 instore. I just bought two a few days ago, added one thing each purchase to use the $10 quarterly voucher.

    • +1

As low as $6.99 back then but for the OG colours white nd black

    Lack Rack time

  • +2

Is this really a deal? I bought some a few years back for something like this.

NB they make good 3d printer enclosures. They are solid enough for lego.

    • +1

Agree with you using this table for my laser printer suits perfectly.

      • +2

Damn… I’ve been wondering what to use for my DIY laser kit.
I’ve got some pine board but no frame… thanks!

        • No worries, but its not my idea - lots of people use them. I have four stacked with three printers inside!

          • @Franc-T: You got any reddit posts of this stuff?

            • @[Deactivated]: Look on Thingiverse and you will find plenty of posts with designs to connect a couple of these tables for enclosures.

            • @[Deactivated]: Not sure what you mean?

    • It's not a great 3d printer enclosure, despite all the prusa thingiverse posts for them. The legs resonate and wobble too much from the vibrations.

      • I just got a printer, what would you recommend for an enclosure?

  • +3

Remember about 5 years ago, the Lack was $2.99 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/249268). I wish they would bring back the irresistible deals.

  • +2

Isn’t it usually this price… depending on colour?

  • +3

If you don't need one quickly you can usually get one eventually from the bargain corner or on the roadside kerb around hard rubbish time :P

  • These Lack tables are usually $5 or even free on GT/FB MP.

The Kallax 4x2 green is $10 off @ $75 too

  • Where's the deal / bargain?

    this is just standard price
and also it used to sell for $7.

    • +1

      Standard price is $20.

"Used to" being the focal point of that sentence.

      • those colorful ones are $19.99..standard price for a white one is $12.99

  • 5cm tall
What is this, a table for ants?

    • +1

      5cm thick, 55cm tall.

    • good as a table to 2 years old.

  • The measurement is the package measurement. After assembling, it will be 45 cm tall. I think OP copied the package measurement not the assembled product measurement.

  • They're not bad tables (especially for the price). I have 6 scattered around the house for 3d printer enclosures and other DIY projects. They hold up well and for the price you can cut them up and mod them to your needs without guilt.

  • the perfect 3D printer enclosure
