Just got a bulletin with this deal, starting tomorrow. $29 cap includes $180 calls and text, with 200MB data and you must take out an additional $4 data pack to give 900MB data total. It's running for 10 days only starting tomorrow. Total cost at $33 per month is $792.

I am not a rep, just work in a retail store.

edit: Also, the HTC Desire HD and HTC Sensation are both going for $0 on the $29 cap. Don't go with the Desire, though (12 months old), get the Galaxy or the Sensation.

delivery was so quick. i didnt expect it to be this fast.

    just ordered 3 days ago

    • That was quick. I ordered on 15 and still processing. Got email yesterday that it is approved. But still waiting for the phone.

  • +2

Just called Voda to see if they would match Virgin's 3 months free. After a lot of waiting and checking, they did and also gave additional 1GB per month data and 10% NRMA discount as well. Had white in stock too. Happy with that.

    • oh damns can i still ask for the 1gb per month?
      after i have already ordered?

      • Were you able to get the 10% NRMA discount?
As I was told that you cannot combine $100 or 10% NRMA discount.

        • +1

Was told on the phone that I would get both additional 1GB and 10% NRMA discount. Although, I was promised the NRMA discount previously but never really saw it on my bills…

        • I Was getting it on my existing Legend bills from starting.

    • What number did you call? i had a rude rep who say no to everything…

      • yes same

the call centres for vodaphone based in India ?

because my rep didnt know what was going on and put me on hold for 10mins doing god knows what…

        • i called the 1555 number, and was diverted to a call centre based in India, the number was diverted back to Australia, ….and everything was NO NO and No, even the answering attitude was bad….

      • Called their 1300 650410 number, asked for accounts, explained request, got passed to upgrades section. Quite a bit of waiting and the rep claimed he couldn't see the Virgin 3 months free offer on their side. I just said I can see it fine and was going to sign up with them but thought I'd call to see if Vodafone can match it. Got put on hold while he checked with his supervisor but came back and said OK.

        • called the number…could only get the 10% but not the additional 1GB…disappointing…

  • Anyone has any receommended salesperson to call? the sales person i had was so rude to me…"NO price matching"

  • Has anyone had any luck getting the extra 1GB data per month free in store?

    • how!!!

      get this free 1gb/mth deal?!!

      • how did you get it? 10% discount + 1gb…….white s2??

  • whats the best deal in store and over the phone currently?

  • I picked up my phone on Friday night. (No special deals, too lazy to haggle & wanted the phone ASAP) Very happy happy with the phone, Vodafone not so much. I don't make or receive large amounts of phone calls. So I haven't tested it extensively. But so far the reception in terms of # of bars isn't that great. tends to drop to 1-2 bars here and there. And I can't get internet working even with reasonable reception. I went to my mate's house with poor reception on 3. I'm trying to get him to stay with 3 or Vodafone. And I had 1-3 bars, but couldn't get it to load a webpage, it was jumping from 3G to HSDPA but still no internet.

Same story with my work place, I could access internet on 3, but not Vodafone.

Ran speedtests at home & at LaTrobe Uni (Bundoora Campus), got 30KB/S @ home and 60KB/S @ LaTrobe. Nothing to write home about, but at least I could browse the web.

On 3 I'd have the backup telstra roaming which was great.

  • Signed up this morning via 131 683 (Option 2)

    Delivery early Jan via AAE.

    Total cost = 29x23x0.9 / 24 = $25.01 per month

NB. I'm an existing 3 customer.

    • hey, what was the name of the person you spoke to?

      • Hi diamondtouch1

Guy I spoke to was Todd (Aussie guy)

        • They have special plans for people moving from 3. they will finally get all of them on vodafone. If you are on vodafone already, no one will listen you.

        • Cheers, thanks for the reply. Not sure who i spoke to, but it was a guy and he was an aussie. Surely that narrows it down from the typical call centre haha

  • when to the voda store yesterday…with virgin offer….they agree to price match but was unable to get through to vodafone (main) phone line….since it was closing time….sign an temp agreement..for 10% discount and free upgrade of extra 750mb (total 950mb)….still yet to receive confirmation email as promise
