Also seems like a really good price for one of these

only get one of these if you have no possible way of accessing a real compost system - like you're in an apartment with no balcony

or maybe if you really dont want to deal with meat in your compost systems anywhere outside because of vermin and disease worries

otherwise dont. very expensive additives you have to buy equals unecessarily expensive compost.

What about doing it just to help the environment?

Id suggest composting it in, almost, any other way is better for the environment…and so is the previous poster.

Id suggest that using this is, generally* better for the environment than throwing organics into the regular bin…. but, worse than:
        A. Outside compost heaps
        B. Outside compost bins.
        C. Council green bin
        D. Commercial systems

        • if one didnt use this much, or it broke, then it wouldnt offset the environment damage of this being made. Also, i personally dont know what is in the spray. Also, theoretically, the use of these could reduce the use of better systems.

Not suitable for an apartment. You need an area to dispose of the fermented waste, typically buried.

I disagree with what you say about regular compost. You should do both. This is a great way of putting meat and fat into your compost. As for the additives, less is more. You only need a spray or a tablespoon of the bokashi grain every couple of days to get the system fermenting.

What I don't like about bokashi is the smell (bin juice), but the way and speed it turns into black compost that can be buried directly into the garden is impressive.

How long does a spray bottle last?

    Assuming this is for apartments?

  • +2

Have an urban composter version of this… The spray should last a good few months and there's quite a few recipes online to make your own - seems easy enough

There are some people I'd really like to use the spray on…. Would one bottle be enough for one person and how long will it take to achieve the desired result?

  • just a headsup….maze products are shit and their customer support is atrocious
