Don’t worry. You can get a tax payer funded tax break (refund) to reduce the price of your expensive Tesla cap. After all you are a self righteous, virtue signalling planet saver who deserves to have your expensive new toy paid for by someone else.

Oh wait, sorry that’s just for their cars.

What Australia States rebate for electric cars?

      • -1

A 2 second search reveals the subsidies given to electric vehicles in Australia. They are mostly stamp duty concessions and luxury car tax reductions. So not technically a rebate, none the less the point I was making is the same. Prices are reduced and this reduction is paid for by everyone else.

        https://www.caradvice.com.au/866630/electric-car-subsidies-h…

And of course the whiners and whingers want more and more because , well because everyone else in the world does it. So my point is relevant not just for Australia.
And it highlights the entitlement attitude the electric car buyers have.

There is something obscene when some (profanity) complains that the $3,000 or $4,000 saving on their $100,000 Tesla isn’t enough when there are plenty of people struggling to feed a family, pay rent or their mortgage and their car isn’t worth more then $3,000 or $4,000. In fact any subsidy is obscene given the cheapest electric car here is around $45,000. And typically are around $60,000 plus. If you can afford that then pay full price. Saving the world is expensive.

Many taxes exist to guide the market toward the priorities of the government. If they want to promote electric car intake they will tweak the taxes as needed. Doesn't have anything to do with take home income.

        • Buddy you have bigger sh*t to worry about like a broken housing market, than free rego for people who want to go green or simply prefer electric motors to ice cars.

          • @krisspy:

Buddy you have bigger sh*t to worry about like a broken housing market,

The real estate market saw some reasonable gains. It's all good.
