  Absolute piece of sh**. If you get more than a year out of it you're doing well.
  Once you start paying that kind of money for a shaver I expect a certain degree of longevity…

    Really, i bought the base model and its been going fine for more than 2 years. So the more expensive doesnt last long or does it depend how you use it?

    Funny you mention that. All the bad reviews on amazon are related to the thing dying within a 6 months due battery. Admittedly there's more good reviews than bad, but it still looks like an issue for some.

    I bought top of the line HQ8894 about 7-8 years ago, still going strong. Admittedly I don't have a heavy beard, but it still works well, holds charge etc. Perhaps it doesn't have so many magical parts that can break!

  Anyone know if the convex head on this one can be used on one of the models with a concave one? I think I have a model or two below this and it doesn't perform very well, but I've heard the convex shaving heads are far superior.

    Actually it is normally $600..

    $599 is the RRP and Shavershop usually sells it for $599..

    That's the only reason I bought mine from Amazon. Shavershop had discounts in the past.. but never down to $250..

  How exactly is $599.95 - $100 cask back = $249.95 and save you $350? wish they would stop quoting the RRP, and quote the actual price.

  Who pays $599 for an electric shaver? I'm guessing the same people who have those $3000 coffee machines at home. For $599 a shaver would want to be so good that I just sit back and relax it shaves me and gives me a shoulder massage while doing it. I bought the Philips Norelco 1150 on the last Amazon deal. Under $100 delivered and has all I ever need in a shaver.
