  • Price error?

    • Nope, I got one myself a few weeks ago. It's been at this price for a while.

      • Oh, you're right. It's been this price on Razer's eBay for the couple few weeks. It's a bit strange because every other store has it priced at like $140+.

        • +1

Yup because Razer RRP is stupidly high. For accessories never by Razer unless it's at least 60% off.

    • Why is it so cheap? Because it's a specialty controller built for fighting games with a fundamentally broken D-pad.

Look it up, they can't give these away!

      • Yup, these aren't best for playing normal games with Xbox/PS key setup, as the button location is very different (skewed towards bottom left).

Also, lack of analog stick means difficult to play games that require both analog and D-pad.

I bought this mainly for fighting games (Street Fighter to be specific) and play emulator games with RetroArch.

I had $10 eBay voucher which brought it down to $24.

      • Yeah. I’m normally a good hadokener on control pads but it’s hard to do it on this. You have to change the button timing to be faster than usual.

The buttons are really nice in this control pad. They feel very much like an arcade stick button

Stupid product, should not exist. And the market agrees.

    • I disagree - they are good for playing fighting games especially Street Fighter where it has PPP KKK setup. Especially at this heavily discounted priced.

  • Throwback to the Genesis days.

  • Does this work for MK11 Ultimate on PS5?

  • Any xb1 version?

  • Any advice on if the touchpad has any functionality on PC?

    • +1

Good question. I will test this out tomorrow.

    • Touchpad can work as another button when pressed, but I don't think it works as "touchpad".

  • After perusing the Amazon reviews I can see why this is cheap. Shame. Looks kinda neat.

    • It's not bad. Buttons are clicky and feels great. At this price, why not. Especially if you like playing fighting games or emulators.

      • Seems like the D-Pad's a pretty major issue.

        • It's been fine for me.

  • I bought one of these upon launch for about $150 and returned it. The D-pad was not for me. It's very clicky and has an 8 way movement. You will be right at home if you like the xbox series x controller d-pad as it's very similar in feel and shape. If you're like me and you prefer the PS Dualshock controller d-pad, then you're better off with a Hori Fighting Commander. I use that a lot for Tekken 7 on PC/PS4. The face buttons on the Raion are nice though. Worth a crack for $34 dollars tho.

    • I wouldn't have paid $150 for it. At $34, nothing else comes close.

  • Tempting given the price, but the lack of the pivot on the D-pad centre can result in opposed and/or missed inputs. Been thinking about giving this a go, but I know I'm going to need to learn how to be more gentle with the d-pad.

  • Does anyone know is this compatible with old PS3?

    • Good question. I am assuming it is since it's just a standard USB controller with PS4 features. I can test this out tomorrow (I have a PS3).

      • Thanks fidelio! plz let me know I would like to get one if it works with PS3

        • TBH I don't see why it won't work. Even the Dual Shock 4 is backward compatible with PS3.

        • Confirming controller works except PS button and touch pad. I've read the info that this is standard behaviour for using ps4 controller on ps3, so for this you might need to use a remote or another ps3 controller.

While it says “PS5 compatible” I don’t suppose it has all the haptics of the Sony Dualsense controller?

    • Nah it means all the buttons and features of the controller will work with PS5.

      • -5

It shouldn’t be labelled PS5 compatible then since the haptics are probably one of the most important features of the PS5 and Dualsense

        • +4

Compatible and feature are 2 completely different things.

        • You can message Razer about it then.

Asking too much for a controller that costs $34 and came out years before PS5 even came out.

  • +1

Thanks for this, a friend and I just grabbed one each!
Assuming it’s fully PS5 compatible should be awesome for MK11 and SFV.

    • I seriously doubt this should be used on a PS5

  • I am a 'returning gamer' and having bought Tomb Raider for PC as my first game after a gap of 15 years, I was looking at buying a controller to play it on my PC…Do you experienced gamers reckon this is a good buy to start off? or is there better controller for PC out there? I am only looking to play Tomb Raider and slowly get back into gaming….

    • This is not a good choice for tomb raider as it requires dual analog sticks.

  • this is the kind of controller you let your mates play on so they don't break your genuine ps4 controllers

    • What are it’s quirks and features ?

  • +1

Can confirm it works with the PS5 version of Mortal Kombat. Thanks OP!

    • Can you use it on the ps5 xmb menu? Mine is not working on both PC and PS5. Dpad does nothing.. button works fine.

      • Yes I can. I can operate the XMB etc.

        • Got it working .. have no idea what happened but everything is working now.

  • Wondered if I got a busted dpad controller. Nothing is working with the one I got.

  • Ah damn. Seems I've missed it. Would've been good to play Marvel vs Capcom on it.
