15-30% Upgrade Credit via Sonos Upgrade Programme @ Sonos

140

I purchased Sonos products many years ago and registered online.
I have received an email offering 30% credit to upgrade. See below for qualifying devices entitled to 15-30% credit.
Stack with CashRewards 3.5% 8%.

A good thing with Sonos (and premium companies like Apple) is that they offer a trial period:

We are confident that you will love your new Sonos product, however, if you are unsatisfied for any reason, simply let us know within 100 days. Upon receipt of the returned goods, we will organise a refund for the full purchase price back on the payment method that made the initial purchase.

E.g. I have a CR200 registered, I can see these prices:
Arc $970 $1399
Sub $699 $999
Entertainment Set (Beam + Sub) $1118 $1598
Entertainment Set (Arc+ Sub) $1678 $2398
Surround Set (Beam + Sub + One SL pair) $1495 $2136
Surround Set (Arc+ Sub + One SL pair) $2055 $2936

How It Works

Full T&Cs

[Edit]
This offer differs from Sonos' original Trade-Up program, which required users to put the speaker into a Recycle mode, which essentially made it unusable. That is no longer the case as reported here

Isn't this the program that bricks the old devices, making them impossible to ever use again because Sonos are a bunch of dicks and don't care about the consumer or the environment?

    • +3

No, they changed their policy. My understanding is the devices continue to work and you can do what you want with them.

      • +3

Correct. Used a 15% voucher from my Play:1 to get an Amp. Play:1 sits happily on my balcony and works as flawlessly as before.

      • Well that's good to hear then.

      • Oh great so we can still keep them and use them like normal? So this is essentially a 15% off code?

    • +1

Confirm that old devices still work. I had the PLAY:5 GEN1 predecessor (over 10 years old). It worked fine and sounded as good as the first day (controlled from my phone app), sold a few months ago for one-third the price I paid for it (excellent residual value for a 10 years old electronics product).

      • Sonos gear keeps their value!

    • +1

I can confirm they no longer brick devices but so
Hidden from then press / media though.

I can also confirm you can’t claim the discount if you buy a cheap s1 device on eBay, swapping accounts removed the discount for me :/

But I did claim it off my own device and got an arc and sub and the device kept working and I sold it on eBay, along with the one I bought for a discount and to avoid bricking my device ( which at the time I still though it did)

I checked my upgrade eligibility using https://www.sonos.com/upgrade and it gave me 15% off for my old playbar. :(

    • same :(

      • Yeah basically it's 15% for old devices which are S2-compatible, but 30% for devices which are not S2-compatible.

In my case I got a 15% coupon for a Play:1, which is S2-compatible, and I'm continuing to use.

Discount (if any) seems to be based on the age of your devices. I'm not offered anything.

I think this deal should be marked as Targeted.

    • +1

The qualifying devices are listed in the OP.

  • Hmmm so one could find a cheap second hand 1 or old connect amp, add it to their account and get 30% off something new?

The 30% discount could be more than the price of the second hand item. Assuming it can’t be a bricked device and you need to successfully add it into your current eco system of devices?

    • Not sure. What happens when you buy a second hand device of a owner which used the rebate already? Not sure how you can check this?

      • there is no way to check this. I had called up Sonos asking about this and they told me that due to privacy reasons they can't disclose it. So you are relying on the word of the seller for this.

      • I guess you can ask the seller. Also chances are not everyone bother to register their devices. I did not register all my Sonos devices either.

        • Ah so it’s done through registration not just having them linked to your account/network?

          • @cam83: 'Not sure how it's done nowadays. I last did it over 10 years ago.

            • @Buy2Much: I’ve never registered my products, so when I check most of them are “registered” around the 15th March 2020.
I suspect that was the S1 app > S2 app changer over time?

  • Stupid question , if someone has registered can you transfer the registration? If the person hasn't used the upgrade , can I get access to the upgrade ?

  • I confirmed with Sonos Support that old device can sill be used after redeeming your upgrade against it,
You can keep on using or resell your old one, as reported here

    • I just claimed an upgrade on two old Sonos ones - does that mean I get a second discount?

      • +1

I am still procrastinating on the upgrade. Why don't you try to add another item again and see if you can get a second discount?

  • Can you register a device and get the discount or have you had to have had it registered?

    • You have have it added to your account. Can take 3+ hours before the upgrade option appears!

  • Happy to PayID someone some cash if they want to register a device on my Sonos account for me :)

  • I'm looking at getting a Sub Gen 3 at 30% off (I have the code applied to my account).

Is anyone in Adelaide interested in any of the following

    Beam
    Beam + 2 x One SL
    Arc
    Arc + 2 x One SL

I could change the order to one of the Entertainment / Surround sets instead. I was thinking you could have them at 20-25% off to make this worth my time and to keep my wife happy with the "unnecessary" sub addition at a lower cost :)

Edit: pretty sure I will be ordering Black

  • For those qualify for Sonos upgrade, they have added the new Roam RRP $279 minus your discount. FYI, at half the price of Sonos Move, I think it is great value.

  • hi,

any one able to share their discount code please ?

    i am after arc.

    thanks

    • There's no discount code. The discount automatically applies to all items when you log into your Sonos account (if you have one of those items above registered).
Suggest you post in the Classified for someone with the Sonos discount to share the purchase because there's no limit how many items they can buy in one go.

  • Question - If someone who has the discount purchases the device at the discount, does that new device purchased have to be registered to that person's sonos account? Or is it auto-register when purchased? Or are they not that clever? :D

  • Looks like Sonos only gives discount to ONE item now - so even if you buy a set - Arc + Sub Gen + One SL ……. you only get a discount on the most expensive item in the set.

    This sucks!

    • Nope, still show up discount for a whole set when I logged in.

      • Try it again right now

        • Hmmm …. I think I see what the problem is now.

“Cannot be combined with other promotions or offers”

The entertainment set with Arc which I’m trying to buy is actually “on sale” now at Sonos.

Therefore it’s not letting my apply the 15% discount credit to it.

          • @proudwanderer: There doesn’t seem to be anyway to choose not to purchase at the sale price and purchase at the full price minus 15% discount.

The 15% discount is way more than the the current sales sales discount

            Sonos Arc Entertainment Set
            - Full price: $2598
            - Sale price: $2449
            - Price with 15% discount off the full price: $2208.30

There’s no way to apply my discount since it is currently on sale. This is crazy if the only way I can buy this thing is for the sale to finish and wait for it to go back up to full price!

            • @proudwanderer: I don’t see the sale, the web site shows me with my credit price, in my case 30%, 1800ish.

              • @Buy2Much: Look here:

                https://www.sonos.com/en-au/shop/entertainment-set-arc-sub

This is what I’m trying to buy.

                Regular price: $2598
                Sale price: $2449

I’m not able to apply my 15% discount to this due to it being on sale.

              • @Buy2Much: Can you send me the link to the one you’re looking at without the sale price?

                Here’s a screenshot:

                https://ibb.co/9NJgnGT

                  • @Buy2Much: When I click that link it still shows up the sale price - $2449

Then when I add it to my cart and try to apply the 15% upgrade discount - nothing happens.

I then remove it from my cart, and then add the Arc by itself - which is not on sale, the 15% upgrade discount is automatically applied.

Tried with different browsers - Edge, Chrome, Brave - in Private/Incognito mode too.

                    Tried on my iPhone.

                    Same thing….

                    • @proudwanderer: Probably your account issue. Contact Sonos sales support.

                      • @Buy2Much: I've sent them an email.

Curious if this is happening to anyone else, or is it just me?

                        Here's another screenshot:

                        https://ibb.co/vmNVHv4

See where it shows "Upgrade 15%" in green - there is a "0" next to it. Whenever I try to click the "+" button to apply the 15% discount it doesn't apply and stays on "0".

I know that I still have a 15% credit that I can use - because when I add just the Arc by itself - which is not on sale - the 15% discount is automatically applied.

                        • @proudwanderer: I tried all the way to the check out point. For fun, I added both entertainment set and immersive set, both got the full discount (itemised) successfully at checkout.

                          • @Buy2Much: Yeh definitely sounds like a problem with my account then.

Out of curiosity - do you see the sale price of $2449?

And when you add your upgrade discount - does it then revert to 30% discount off the full price of $2598?

That's the way I expect it should work. I should be given the option to either:

                            1) Purchase at the sale price of $2449 with no further discount, OR
                            2) Purchase at the full price with my 15% upgrade discount applied

  • seems the Symfonisk line isn't supported unfortunately.
