Oh, I thought this was a three pack. No way these ancient games are worth over a hundred bucks on sale

Same, came for a triple pack…. left disappointed.

It could be worse, you can still pay USD70 + USD20 postage - roughly AUD116 - for just Stranger's Wrath in a trainwreck CE bundle.

        lmao "for PlayStation 3"

It's so bad I'm not even angry ;-)

New n Tasty was free on Epic last month.

Was also on PS+ nearly 6 years ago now, for what that's worth.

Pretty disappointing to see it "on sale" for $34 for a 20-year old game that you can pick up for under $5 on your phone… but I guess that's Nintendo pricing.

Keen to get these for < $20 each at EB soon I reckon.

I know there's Nintendo tax.. but this is way beyond that. They are simply overpriced. These games should be $30 at full price on eshop. And $15 for a usual sale price, then eventually down as low as $10.

Surely many of the interested customers already own them on other platforms. Doesn't help their cause.

Price aside can anyone compare New 'n' Tasty to the original 2. Looks like it's the original 2D as compared to the 3D format in Munchees Odyssey that I struggled to get into.

Some of my favourite memories as a teen was playing Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus with friends. That first time getting to the end (with no such thing as Google helping) after hours and hours and hours of enjoyable game play.

I've had a copy of the walkthrough for a while and have always wanted to try again, this time saving every mudoken, I understand there's a Easter egg if you save them all.

Thinking a few vodka's with a walk and fart down memory lane tonight.

    • New 'n' Tasty is a ground up remake (released in 2014) of the original, it uses Abe's Odyssey (from 1997) as a blueprint.

Also Oddworld: Soulstorm is currently in development, which is a ground up 're-imagining' of Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, with some new features, such as crafting.

Thanks Emwearz. Sounds like i'll have to grab myself New n tasty (at the right price). I'm actually quite excited to dust off the PS2 and give the original another go.

      • Crafting? Bah.
Crafting and fishing do not make games better. I wish they'd stop putting them in games (except survival games where I suppose they are absolutely necessary.. and fishing games - Sega Bass fishing on dreamcast?)

    • Hi!

    • New n Tasty is more 'playable' thanks to quicksaving, high resolution, etc. It's decent, but in my opinion the 3d graphics dont really capture the atmosphere of the original, handpainted , backgrounds. Theymade a lot of the colours very vibrant and bright, where the original was darker and had better colour grading. But all in all it's a fun way to replay the original.

Soulstorm looks WAY too different with all the crafting and stuff. I'm skeptical.

      • Hi FoodFella,

I noticed both yourself and justtoreply talk about crafting? Is that like having to work in the game to build experience or buy things? I've just started the original, the graphics hold up really well, playing on a 65inch. But i forgot how hard it is (even with my walk through) I was hoping to smash it out but am struggling, think it's going to take a long time to finish. Although am enjoying as much as the first time i played.

    • I have great memories of Abe's Oddysey too! It had such a magical exploratory feel, finding secrets was so exciting. Gaming was better before it was so easy to look up guides on the internet. Looking forward to giving New n Tasty a go soon.

I'll wait until EB Games clear those out in the next sale for $5-10.
