Check with Hearing Australia, if you have a healthcare/pension card I think it's free.

    Otherwise try https://www.hearingsavers.com.au

  • Googling shows, Coles, Woolworths, Bunnings all have them, do hearing aids adhere to some international standard battery type? Maybe if you can tell us what type it is, then google it.

  • hearing savers probably

As a hearing aid user and now with a concession card I have free hearing aids. I pay around $45 a year and receive free yearly check up, free service, repairs and batteries.

To answer a posters question, yes the batteries are the standard world wide. Size of battery depends on hearing aid brand, size and model. Think there are only three different battery sizes.

They are available Coles, Woolworths, Pharmacies and of course hearing aid outlets. Never looked for them in Bunnings.

You get them from the people that supply your hearing aids. There is normally a yearly cost (around $50) and then you can get all the batteries you need.

If you are a pensioner and have access to the free hearing aid system, it is wonderful. My mum is up to her 4th different lot of free hearing aids, and every few years when she is due a new lot of hearing aids, the technology in the hearing aids increased dramatically. Very impressive service.

They are not free. Maybe to your mum they are. Someone is paying for them.

Costco - get a couple of the big Kirkland packs. I got my hearing aid from them and all your visits etc are covered with the Costco membership. The pricing for hearing aids in general is way cheaper there than anywhere else I have found.

    • Agree, my last set of hearing aids were from Costco, way cheaper than competition. Now I use Cochlear Implants so no more batteries to buy.

  • my dad got his for free from the hearing aid place that did his testing etc. just call em and they'd post out 4x 8 packs

    • just call em and they'd post out 4x 8 packs

      About to get broden'd now.

  • Costco sells these too, if you're in east coast metro area.
