$799+del HP DV6-6136: 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card, 4GB RAM, quad core i7 2630, 640GB, USB 3.0 X 2

70

Its a pretty good gaming rig with the quad core i7 2630 and 2gb ddr5 graphics card and since most games don't use more than 1.5gb of ram the fact that it has 4gb ram won't really affect game play. If you're doing video editing work you might want to just buy extra stick of 4gb ram for 30 bucks or so and insert it into the empty slot. ram is fairly cheap and easy to find nowadays so not a real problem. it has 2 usb 3.0 ports on the left and 2 usb 2.0 port on the right. A BR player would have been better but it has a dvd burner instead. The Beats Audio quad speakers were actually half-decent in this laptop, you can see a clear difference in the sound quality.
I was able to get it to do about 50fps on Skyrim with High settings, but it just couldn't handle the Ultra settings which was expected.

Ah, yes, Skyrim…a game perfectly suited playing on a portable machine. My desktop can barely run it so might need to upgrade eventually(I'm about 4 years behind in the tech cycle).
That's alot of power in a lappy for $800 bux!

  • ok guys it seems like they figured out people really wanted that 8GB upgrade so they took off those laptops and upgraded them all from 4 to 8 gb of ram for the same price, i'll just make a new post with a new link at http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/59929
for those of you who are interested.
