Splashtop Remote Desktop HD for iPad $0.99 - Normally $2.99

110

Celebrating Splashtop named by Apple as "Top 20 best-selling iPad app in 2011!" ALL Splashtop apps are on Super SALE — Remote Desktop, CamCam, Touchpad, FileHound, etc…

Out of those apps, Splashtop Remote Desktop HD (for iPad) at $0.99 is the only one worth considering. Splashtop Touchpad is free from time to time… so I wouldn't buy Splashtop Touchpad at $0.99.

This is a crap remote control solution, it keeps dropping the connection, it's unusable.

I use Wyse Pocketcloud, which has a bargain version, and LogMeIn Ignition, which got discounted recently, but is back to its expensive price of $30-something.

It's a shame Spashtop is so unstable, because it does stream the smoothest for the 10-15 seconds it's working.

I've had no issues with this app at all, been using it for 6 months on a dialy basis without a single problem….simply brilliant!

At 99cents its a no brainer. Get it!

    • Maybe your iPad doesn't like you.

      • Or my iPhone, or my iPod Touch, or my PC, or my iMac, or my MacBook Pro, or any of the three wireless networks I've tried doing this with.

If it works for you, great, but lots of people are complaining about dropping connections. The product simply isn't very compatible with stuff.

        • time to upgrade your wifi router. been used this app for 1.5 years, simply great. and with one pc/mac client, you can remote control pc (remote desktop), camera (camcam), mouse/keyboard (touchpad). maximise the ipad usage

        • If there were so many issues with this app, the ratings would say otherwise.

btw. Is your router even Wireless-N?

        • The reviews do show problems. At least one in 10 people say it's crap

      • I have some problem before with PC to PC it is very slow and not responsing after connected.

Finally found out because of some network card with a setting call "Large Send Offload". Disabled it back to normal.

Check your host network card drivers, Advanced settings to see if you have this in it.

Splashtop is good because I can even play video on the host PC and watch it on my iPad. Of course a little bit lag but acceptable.

    • I think you cannot play video with them but OK for normal remote control.

      • Awesome app. One of the best I own. Always use it to play HD video on my PC streamed to the Ipad, and it plays 99% of the time seamless. Sometimes it jitters when I move the ipad around, but that would be a wifi issue, so nothing the app can do about that.

I've also used to to play windowed games from the PC via an xbox wireless controller (connected to the PC) on the ipad in other parts of the house. The stream quality is that good!

        $0.99….Get it!

Uses too much CPU when running on the host machine
    Better off with TeamViewer

    • Yeah a lot higher than Teamviewer but may because it allows play video over it.

  • So, is it worth it to buy this app? I use wyse pocketcloud, and it works flawlessly. I'm just wondering whether okay or not to buy this.

    • It's 99c, is it worth going through the hassle of asking everyone or surfing forums? It's 75c if you have a gift card, AND the ratings are nearly flawless.

      • Its 99 cents, but that doesn't mean it is a bargain for some LOL

        • So you would rather waste half an hour in order to avoid the chance of wasting 99c? You're a champ.

  • I have no problem since I've tried the free version splashtop remote browser.
    It's working great"

I have notice the splashtop remote desktop app have changed to $1.99 from $0.99 today.

Why they need to change the price?
