Samsung Galaxy S20FE 5G Smartphone 128GB, Navy sold and shipped by Amazon for $868.00

Used cashwards (4%) to take it to $833.28 and paid via Giftcards from Macquarie Marketplace (3%) takes it to $807.24. Got another $5 cashrewards bonus (https://www.cashrewards.com.au/promo/cr1611194405) brings it down to $802.24, which I think is a decent price for a 5G phone.

@su3050: Heads up, I bought this phone at $695 just after christmas with Samsung student discount, there may be better deals coming up

  • +2

solid, but no pre christmas deal like my 256gb 8gb for $729

    • -3

Is this deal still available? Link please.

      • No, the 256gb is discontinued and was only available on Samsung Education Portal

        • +2

Thanks. I thought the fact you mentioned it means we can still get it.

        • Not sure why I'm just realising now that I could have doubled my storage for only thirty smackers..

Oh well, slapped the 512gb sd card from my last phone in there 🤷‍♂️

    • Not as good as the -$21 deal from JB :)

  • Fair price for a good all around phone but has been cheaper. Does one wait for a price drop once the s21 hits or not risk it and grab now…

    • +1

old model.. wouldn't bother. s21 prob be around that price in couple months.

      • s21 wasn't that impressive for me unless you get the Ultra, which is $$$. no microsd either. I have a Feb cutoff for yearly phone salary sacrifice, so didn't want any longer.

        • No microsd? What the hell are they doing

      • +2

unless you want to use an existing sd card… in that case the s21 is not gonna work that well

      • +2

Base s21 no as card slot and smaller screen. Yes, better in other areas but how long till it drops. Screen size on base model for me is too small.

        • None of the 3 S21 models include a microSD card slot. Means I won't consider it for future upgrade.

      • S21 has a smaller battery too. Likely won't last a day under normal use, according to this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPEzmlGXPtU

    • Grab it now.

    Tempting Price!
I keep hearing that the screen issues haven't been completely fixed for everyone yet.
(despite 3 attempts to sort it out via updates)

  • $1119 for the other colours - sold out at the discounted price now :(

I was hoping for a Pixel 5 deal but at this price I could have been happy with the S20FE… the hunt continues

  • For someone moving from Iphone to Samsung, would S20 or S20FE be best?

    • -6

why are you moving to samsung? i find anyone that moves from iphone or to iphone always has difficulty adjusting to the new software experience. I've always recommended to stick with it unless there is something that one cant do over the other that you need.

      • +1

I am asking for a colleague but I use both anyway. I don't find the adjustment that hard tbh. I guess whether or not you can get used to it is a personal thing after all. Thanks for the comment : )

        • no worries,
personally I prefer android and own a S8 and everyone in my house hold owns a Samsung too. I love them but my Mrs. wanted a iPhone and I was like why change now and got her to use a friends and she hated it haha. she said all I wanted was the nice camera which samsung does pretty well too.

Get the FE 5G, do not get the non 5G version.

The FE 5G has the snapdragon processor so you will have better battery life and performance.

      • +2

Yeah get the FE 5g, I've switched from iPhone to Android too and I'm not going back

      • Thanks. Is the battery life a lot better?

        • +1

There a few things to take into account, Exynos will overheat and thermal throttle reducing performance and also drain battery life quicker. Also the photo qualities are worse.

The Snapdragon phones are so much better. Just run it in 4G mode and you'll get better performance. 5G is still too hacky in Australia to be reliable on any network or phone. Just causes unnecessary battery drain.

          • +1

@tobi: Thanks Tobi. I'll look into the models and hopefully get the snapdragon variant

    This or the S21 @ 999 ( Education store) ?
S21 comes with free ear buds

    • +1

I didnt think buying through edu store gave u the buds

    • No free buds through the edu store.
You get a free trio wireless charger.

Also don't forget the $50 newsletter code to bring it to $950. Plus the $100 accessories code for some free cases and chargers etc.

  • Will aussie retailers price match this?

    • Only Officeworks but they don't have this

  • Upgraded from Iphone 7 plus and loving it.

  • This or pixel

    • Pixel 4a 5g and 5 will produce slightl better photos/video, so if that is crucial then pixel is better. S20 FE pics and vid is still very good and if you can get it at this price or less then I'd say the S20 FE 5Gif you want an all round good phone.

Last week I took this price from Amazon to OfficeWorks and managed to bring it down to $829.35.

    OW asking price was $1147
