1Gb MP3 player for $199? Who are you kidding?

    • +1

But this deal/post is about it being offered for $24.98. Some stupid regular price is no reason to neg the deal.

My goodness, you are an angry young lady.

      • The reason to neg the deal is it's obviously just looking at a catalog, seeing a crazy RRP and thinking (or not thinking and just posting) it as a bargain.

Considering you can get much larger capacity ones for cheaper even with this "save $170" special, I stand by the neg.

      • eg:
        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8GB-Sports-Swim-Swimming-Waterpro…

        8Gb waterproof MP3 player for $29 delivered
        Or 1Gb waterproof MP3 player for $25

That's not even going into the borderline uselessness of 1Gb storage for music…

Comparing apples to oranges doesn't help here. Like it or not the Speedo branded unit did have an outlandish RRP, and a hefty real street price of over $100 when I last saw them. $24.95 does therefore represent a real saving for that particular product, making it a bargain for anyone specifically interested in that unit.

        • Your reasoning is better this time. However, compare it to http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/1gb-waterproof-mp3-player-li…

I think it is not so easy to find a water resistant MP3 player suited to kids. Someone further down this thread has asked you for alternative better deal examples.

          really…1gb is borderline useless?

Considering your average song is 3-5mb…you could hold approx 180-200 songs on a 1gb mp3 player.

If the average song is 3min in length…then that's 600min or 10 hours of audio.

I don't know about you…but I rarely swim for more than 10 hours straight…and on the odd occasion that I might…I don't mind a few repeats.

        • Ah yes, I forgot the average person fills their MP3 player up with generic pop, rap and rnb at low encoding quality. For me average albums are around 100-200Mb, average songs usually around 8-15Mb. 8 albums at a time, you'd spend more time updating songs than swimming.

    • Just put your iPod in a glad bag, and she'll be waterproof!

haven't you learnt anything from the titanic disaster!!?? you have to wrap it in TWO glad bags to ensure its safety!

  • I bought mine (2GB) for $50 and it's great - so hard to find a good waterproof mp3 player for when I go swimming but this one works great! Recommended.
