I bought one on sale for $10 7 years ago. Still haven’t finished it

  • Online only or in store as well?

Don't put this stuff where coolant goes, like I did

      Whaaa?

    • +1

must of been like a bubble bath.

    • Did you kill the engine after that incident? 🥴

      • +1

No only topped up the coolant, so wasn't a complete disaster.

I did have to replace a rubber O ring that was connected to the heat exchanger, so probably caused premature wear on that, only cost a couple bucks though…. plus 6L of fresh coolant.

  • Perfect for my giant windscreen

  • On the product page it states:

Bar's Bug Windscreen Cleaner is safe to use in conjunction with automotive paint finishes.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't this a given with any windscreen additives?

  • This is the super concentrate version which has a 40:1 mix ratio
    The 500ml concentrate is 30:1

    Thanks for this data.

I noticed that the following Bar's Bug product has the same ratio as the deal item:

  • Does it work?

    • Water is just fine

    • +3

Yeah those bugs hitch hiked on my windscreen said they had a good bath.

    • I haven't had much success with it.

    • IMO yes. If especially because it reduces/stops webbing'
IOW I don't get those damn residual and random areas where the water seems to remain… 'patchy' after each swipe of the wiper blades.

Repco $4 for a litre bottle with the measure much easier

  • I used some of this stuff yesterday with my squeegee water and it took the dried bug guts right off. It left a faint sheen so beware of making the solution too strong if you're doing it by eye.
I don't know about putting it in the wiper reservoir but it can't be worse than just water
