Harvey Norman 4GB/8GB Toshiba Flash Drive for $5/$9 USB 2.0

110

I went to Harvey Norman QV, Melbourne and spotted a full basket of 8GB Toshiba flash drive (2.0) for $9 each (RRP: $29.95). I know this is not as great as $2 8GB USB flash drive deal yesterday, but it's a good price in my opinion. Also 4GB for $5 in the basket next to it.

  • Shame none of the 16GB for $15 deals. But the Greensborough Harvey Norman at the last deal removed all of the 16GB drives until after the sale, so I'm a little off HN these days.

  • Yeah, I was looking for $16GB for $15 as well… Anyway, ended up buying the 8GB for system back up storage. :)

  • I had this model as a 16GB (from my mother in law so it may be fake). It failed after about a month.

  • I bought the 2gb from a previous sale, I find that at most it'll only copy at speed of 4mb/s, so beware of the slow speed on these drives

    • Yeah, I got a 16gb and average between 1 and 4 MBps.. They are pretty terrible drives.

  • ive got the 16gb from the previous sale
its cheap but its reeeallly slow. my old usb are even faster.

anyway.. imation are on sale as well (same price). not only toshiba.

  • Don't store long term critical data on this brand as I have a couple and they corrupt very quickly. Not ever had That issue with my kingston USB

  • at the Knox store now, they have 4gb at $7, 8gb at $12 and 16gb at $25. However the driver here are lexar instead of Toshiba.

  • Bought a few, large file write speed is about 8MB/s and the read is about 14MB/s.

  • I also have had problems with the 16GB one. I have had two that are only readable on an older PC, not even on the PC that wrote to them. I have scrapped them.
I also have the 8GB one and it is OK, but slow.
I would not buy any more of this brand. Last lot I got from HN were Lexar and I have had no issues with them.

  • Fyi,
There weren't any at the HN store in Hoppers crossing Melb.

I went looking after a post here about a deal in HN perth, but none of those deals for this HN.

  • i think most bigw stores have lexar drives for 8gb roughly $12 16gb-$25 cant comment on the lexar brand though as i have not purchased any of there products
