  • $10,000 question:
how do I get the points without stepping? :D

    • +4

Ah. See if you do a chopping motion with your arm it looks like you are stepping.

$15 answer: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/383813375301. One hour on this is around 8,000 steps

      • +2

I don't want to believe that this exists.

      • Quick review - this is too heavy to use with a phone but works fine with smart watch trackers.

      • Are 280 Qantas points even worth $15?

        • You can earn up 1000 QPs per year through the Wellbeing app without purchasing Qantas insurance. If you value 1 QP = 1.9cents as per pointhacks valuation matrix then you'll get back $19 worth of Qantas Points. If you buy Silver Plus hospital cover or higher through Qantas Insurance (they do regular pretty good sign up offers) you can earn up to 20,000 wellbeing points per year. That's $380 worth of QPs, or $200 if you want to swap your points for gift cards

And I thought I was lazy with the arm movement. At least I can pretend I’m doing bicep exercises.

      $2.8 question

    • Tape your phone to a fan

    • +1

Why don't you get off your fat acre instead and get stepping?

  • +3

If it doesn't show up, update your app.

    • +1

updated app, refreshed, still not there…

  • +5

    280 points….1000 points = $10,so just $2.8…

    • +1

No they are valued at .5 a pt for gift cards as flying value is gone currently . So $1.40 value .

  • +6

This doesn't seem great value for ~$2 worth of points…

Earned 26,473 points since March last year. For only paying $316 for extras which pretty much covers dental and optical. I think it's worth it.

2 Dental checkups + 2 pairs of glasses with a small gap to pay.

The points nearly cover the extras alone!

      • +1

Can you please tell me more? Do u mean u paid $316 on for private health all up for since march? Or do you mean only the extras portion was $316? What's the base cost?

      • +4

I've made 4760 points without even being with them for health insurance. It's pretty much the only way I currently earn Qantas points, so it helps keep my account active and stops points from expiring.

      • Wait really? Can you explain your breakdown?

      • According to Qantas Insurance T&C you can earn a maximum of 20,000 Qantas Points through the Wellbeing App. The maximum points can be earned if you have Silver Plus or Gold HOSPITAL cover.

  • This is a waste of time. I'd rather get 80k points from the credit card

    • +1

Good way to keep your balance from expiring between churns. Especially for those who aren't currently flying due to covid.

      • +2

Link your Qantas FF to Woolies is a much cheaper way to maintain your point balance

EDIT: I mean easier way not cheaper

      • +2

QFF points take 18 months of no inactivity to expire. If you're even close to that much inactivity, you're doing it wrong.

        • “No inactivity“?

  • Thanks op mine is there, would love to have a Qantas wellbeing referral program on ozbargain

    • I believe there is? I just checked and updated my referral code for app download. But it hasn’t been added to this deal page.

      • Fixed now. The deal had the wrong Qantas store set.

  • +1

    $0.1 per day lol

    • if you want $0.2, Qantas need to replace l with n to make this offer fun.

  • A rare healthy deal post on ozbargain !

  • Too tired for $2.8

  • Thanks but may be targeted not under challenges in my updated app.

    • Click on the 'Challenges' tab in the wellbeing app - its at the top

      • thanks already did that but this time when i opened it it did a little spinning wheel and it appeared - i already had the latest version so much have been some sort of synch.

  • If you have any kind of private health insurance its worth getting a quote from Qantas and comparing. I ended up getting cheaper insurance plus have earnt a bit over 39,000 points through the app.

this challenge is small fry to be honest :-)

    • I'd just suggest before changing doing a comparison of health plans at: https://www.privatehealth.gov.au/dynamic/search/start
When I was looking to move from Bupa to Qantas I did a comparison and was quite startled to find that there were some quite fundamental items that were excluded from the Qantas plan compared to my existing. Its quite a while back so I don't remember what they are now unfortunately. I guess that's the reason that they offer a cheaper policy.

  • It's good to have the app running, earn points for going about your day! I try to do the sleep challenge too each night

  • Can get an easy 70+ points from completing the questions in the check-up section

  • Anyone else find the app is buggy for this? I walked over 14.5k steps today and it shows that in the normal Daily Challenge section of the app yet in the Frequent Walker Challenge section for this promo it's showing 7300!

    • Just checked in to say the same thing! Daily challenge steps 6887, Frequent Walker 3606 😒

    • We found closing the app and reopening seems to help.
