[NSW] NX 60W 2.1ch Soundbar with Wired Subwoofer - $29 (Was $79) @ Kmart (Broadway)

570

Hi all,

I spotted this at Kmart Broadway (NSW) tonight with plenty of stock. May be discounted at other Kmart's too?

https://ibb.co/Fzq29SJ

Looks like a pretty good price to me, $29 for a Wireless Soundbar with wired Subwoofer. I scanned it at a price-check and can confirm it's $29.

The same product is on Kmart's website for $79.

https://www.kmart.com.au/product/60w-2.1ch-soundbar-with-wir…

Not sure how good it sounds. Does anyone have any good feedback on the product.

Just confirming this is store specific only. It’ll be a managers markdown because they have excessive stock post Christmas.

Looks like a decent deal, any confirmation if it is available in WA?

    • Try kmart maddington

      • Following. Keen as to get one from maybe Midland

    • Gateways full price

  • +2

    Decent garage speaker?

    • It’s the sort of crap that you go: “Hey, I could use this sorta thing in my XYZ area that’s not your main entertainment room”

    • I clicked on this thinking the exact same thing.

  • +4

I give up to even bother trying on generic brand speakers. 99% won't last long.

A piece of advise. Better spend a little bit more on branded speaker.

Unless you are not expecting it to last longer then it's different.

I have an (at least) two year old kmart 2 channel wireless speaker. Still going. I don't use it every day, but I don't think the issue is with it lasting, I think the issue will be sound quality. Mine isn't bad for the price, but it is lacking in the bass, so this might be a reasonable option. The volume is limited and sound isn't comparable to my Polk Audio speakers and Wharfdale sub woofer, nor would I expect it to at the price.

    • +4

Exactly. I used to buy speakers like this but they just kept breaking or had inferior sound output. Spent a bit extra and got a set of Loewe Klang 5's and i've never looked back.

      • +9

I love your definition of 'a bit more'

        • +1

has to be sarcasm surely :-)

    • funny i wrote the same thing but got down voted hard….

        @ChiMot.
Same thing. Different expression though. The old adage comes to mind "it's not what you say, it's how you say it"

  • I'm not sure with this one, but I have the $49 Kmart soundbar; and it's ok for garage speakers.
However the problems it has are:
    (a) 30% of the time it dooes not automatically wake from standby after period of no use - need to power off/on
    (b) will occasionally forget the pairing - need to re-pair
    (c) sound drops in and out
But…. you get what you pay for

    • +6

Daim man. So it will remind you everyday that you only paid $29 for them.

      • Less regret then if you paid $79.

        • +1

Agree! I love cheap thrills but only if I can enjoy for a while without regrets.

Dts Virtual X is a must for soundbar . Better pay a bit more and get Yamaha YAS

    • i have the yas 108.
after reading the comments I think i'll just wait for another deal on these

    • +11

Better pay a bit more and get Yamaha YAS

A YAS 108/109 is currently $295. That's NOT a 'bit more'. More like Ten Times more. Apples and Oranges my friend. :)

I guess these are ok as laptop replacement speakers.

    • I have that soundbar and hate Virtual X. Otherwise its awesome.

      • You can make changes to it on the app that you sometimes can't do with the remote. So then just turn it off.

Do you have any recommendations for the equaliser settings and bass/treble settings?

  • Nice deal, believe instore only !!?

  • +1

I would buy it and I don't have any need for it. :\

  • Has this been seen for $29 at any other Kmart store, or just OP's local?

    • +1

If I get to mine, I'll check and post back.

    • +1

Couldn’t find them at all at my QLD store

    • It's store specific as it's still $79 on the website

  • Better then the built in speakers on my Kogan tv for the kids?

    • -4

you need to change your tv, and get better soundbar than kmart

  • +2

    FYI no HDMI input

  • Just went to Kmart Maddington in WA, they have a few but scanned up as $79. Spoke to someone and she checked too but still $79. Most likely not all stores.

  • +1

Still scans at $79 at arana hills qld

    • did you check if they can price match with the other kmart store?

      • I didn't, no.
I was driving past so just stopped in to check.

  • $79 @ blacktown NSW

  • $79 at Helensvale. About to ask in-store at Coomera to see if they'll match.

    Edit: no

  • +3

I though Kmart had national pricing. I guess this must just be an oversupply at the OP's store and thus a local price

  • My friend sold his Sennheiser Ambeo and got this

  • Anyone has any experience with $129 one 2.1 speaker? https://www.kmart.com.au/product/2.1in.-soundbar-with-wirele… couldn't find much reviews online.

    • +1

The HDMI port on this is placed rather poorly with it pointing downwards on the soundbar itself. This means, unless you use a low profile 90 degree adapter, you won't be able to place the soundbar on your entertainment unit without something to prop it up. Sounds reasonable though when connected via aux in.

      • great thanks. If hdmi port is on the bottom of the speaker then I might use an angled adapter, however I was more curious about the bass. How is the bass on this one?

        • -1

          It goes dooof doooof dooof….

  • None at Parramatta NSW

  • only 5 left in store

  • I just called and they said it's out of stock now, though the employee said its price was 79$ and did not find the clearance sign so I wonder if the person made a mistake in their search.

  • Rack is no longer there. Replaced by cat litter.
