good deal but the item weight is 640g. may be not good for travelling.

  • +3

If you are planning on traveling with this on an aircraft, I suggest checking both the restriction of the airline you plan to fly and also the countries security control restricted items list. I do remember in July 19 going through Suvarnabhumi Airport and there being signs with 20,000mAh max and they were actively removing anything without a mAh rating on it or anything above 20,000 and binning them. I will also note most airlines I have flown will not allow battery's (laptops/battery banks/phones) to be checked in (China Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Ryan)

looking forward to this being an actual problem

    • what if I just drained the battery a bit first?

      • -3

Wow you are so strong can squeeze spin drain power bank by hand like a piece of clothing

      • Then you damage the lithium cells, if the BMS let's you take it down that far.

    • I’ve travelled with my rav power 26800 and have been to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, China, parts of Europe, Japan, and south korea from 2018 to early 2020 and had no issues whatsoever

      • +1

So no travel since early 2020?…

    • +3

The power bank has all the markings at the bottom including the Wh which is under 100Wh.

      • Yep I have flown with this, they did check and bomb tested it but all good

Got mine taken away at Phuket Airport at the ‘pre-screening’ (literally, as soon as you walk inside the airport.

Annoying. Had no idea at the time.

      • This exact over?

      • Sorry. Can't edit on app. This model charger?

      • Yes I've had my power banks checked at Thai airports as well. Luckily I was under the 20,000mAh limit.

  • i am a bit confused. why is there a lightning port on the power souce side?

    • ok i get it now. with a lightning input port, you can charge this power bank using a lightning cable.

      • +1

could be for firmware updates lol

      you’re a wizard harry

    • +1

It's for charging, you can use lightning, micro usb or usb c to charge the powerbank. Got my 20000mAh version on Thursday and it died last night when trying to charge my phone. It barely lasted 24hrs.

      • holy shit. sorry to hear that.

        • Dropped it off at the post office yesterday morning and got refunded by Amazon 2 hours later. I'll stick to Anker or Xiaomi from now on.

  • -3

The price is good, but I have a question mark over the specs. The capacity rating is questionable at this price point

    • Agreed. For this reason I don't buy any battery products from unknown brand. I mean, you can even see 500000mah power bank in ebay.

      • What are some other well known reliable brands as I'm looking to compare

        Thanks

        • Xiaomi

        • +1

Well even Samsung makes its own power bank for $$$.

For similar price range, I can recommend xiaomi, anker and blitzwolf

FYI if you search youtube for 18380 lithium battery capacity review, Panasonic is the best but costs $ then Samsung is close enough to what's written in spec then cheap unbranded china one is rubbish.

        • I've been using Anker battery packs since 2011 (when they first came out and were much less mainstream than they are today). And I'm still rocking the original one 15,000 that I bought back then. Have bought 2 others since then (so I have a small, medium and large option) and they are phenomenal. I refuse to use anything else.

But this is Romoss, quite well known brand

    • +3

Romoss is decent. Have a few and can vouch for them.

      • I had a Romoss before too and happy. However, received this - seems heavier.
Does not charge on a Surface Pro 4.

        • I dont think the SP4 does USB-C charging - at least not the one I used…

  • Can it charge a laptop?

    • +1

MBP need 45w PD minimum iirc. Works for surface.

      • Which Surface? Not the Book that’s for sure

        • I have a pro x

    • 18w will be fine for Surface laptop and pro.

Can confirm as I have a 18w and own both.

    • +2

I'm hoping to have the 50W power bank with USB-PD for laptop charging on sale again next week.

    • Yes, I've charged two USB-C capable laptops (Samsung & Lenovo) with this unit.

  • +1

FYI - it doesn’t support pass through charging as per Customer Questions on Amazon page.

    • Think my one does but its a slightly different model, PHP30 Pro 30,000mAh
Only caveat is it wont quickcharge until its charging only off the cells itself.

  • After 6-months use, the battery goes from 31% to 0% instantly. This problem is very common and defeats the purpose of getting the 20,000MaH when you can only use 69% of it.

I use this to charge iPads, it also does maintain the power on my MacBook at just say 20% or it may drop to 19% after some time, but it does maintain the battery.

The lightning in cable is to charge the battery pack, and it does not allow pass-through charging.

  • This Kogan power bank is smoking good for the price.
So handy that I bought two.

Have taken them overseas several times, no issues.

I bought my first Romoss powerbank few months back.Model was LT20PS+

I am not that happy with it.
Its more bulky than it needs to be and charges devices slower.

    Prefer my Xiaomi/Redmi/Zmi powerbanks.

I even love the Kogan 15000 mah PD powerbank.
    Compact,metallic and speedy.

Not planning to buy any more Romoss.

    • yeah I agree I lost my original Xiaomi Purple ZMI, it also acts as a USB hub. it was really good even new versions don't compare….

  • Been using it today, seems to be depleting charge very quickly. Have I got a lemon? Had 71 percent when I opened it up, and now it has 7 percent and hasn't even charged my phone fully

    • same - how many times you think it recharge for you?

It does from 100-75 fairly slowly then straight down to zero.
