For anyone looking for a comprehensive review. Used to own the wired version and this thing is a beauty. Sound and call quality seems to be where these cans shine. I would, and have however, gone for the Wh-1000XM4.
I have the XM4 as well. But somehow the right ear cap has static noise when ambient sound control is on. I exchanged once, but the second has the same issue. Do you have similar issue?

@kiwi2124: This is indeed strange, probably something which I have not notice. Seems to be a common issue according to reddit, with no apparent solution for it. I will use mine for a couple hours and see
I had the second gen and paid full retail for those, ended up parting it for half of that.
The problem I had with the second gens is that it doesn't form a complete seal around my ears, which means the active noise cancelling would work, but not completely and will let the noise in. This was especially problematic when I was using it for a 22-hour airplane ride.
I ended up buying the wh-1000xm3 to replace them and it's fabulous. I like it more than the qc35.
The sound very good, but they don't support simultaneous audio from two sources. If you're listening to something on your laptop, then every time there's a notification ding on your phone, they will cut of and pause whatever is playing on the laptop.
