  • I would say the battery life on this is pretty crap (currently at 44%) and I charged it to 100% at 4:30pm yesterday, only did 2 sessions of hiit for 30mins each back to back last night.

Only other negative is no LTE.

Best watch imo with a square face for an android user.

fwiw, the non-music version was $230 not long ago.

    • You're doing something wrong with those battery stats.

Do you have GPS set on for all activities?

      • +1

I probably am. I actually only have 1 activity which I use, that's 'cardio' (I only do hiit) and the GPS is set to off.
Having said that I did go through their 'save battery' article and turned stuff off where appropriate. The only one which I think would save more is the data recording (every second vs smart).

        Everything else seems pretty normal?

        Display:
        timeout - short
        brightness - medium
gesture - always on, sensitivity - high
        during activity - timeout

        vibration - medium
        data recording - every second

The watch face is stock, with data on each corner date, battery, heart rate and temperature.

Had it for 1 week exactly :)

Cheers for that info mate, nothing really jumps out at me what could be chewing your battery.

I've got the Venu and my wife has the Venu Sq and both of us average 4-6 days with similar usage.

Could you have PulseOx monitoring set to constant? As I only have mine monitoring during sleep hours.

          • @ameno: yeah my PulseOx is set to All Day.

I guess I could set it to sleeping hours, but my sleeping hours are very irregular haha, or just do it manually when I want to know it.

I wish this watch had battery drain stats to see whats eating it!

I've actually only taken it off to charge it twice and can see how long the battery has lasted.

            First battery cycle (100 to 10%) was Jan 28 1:30pm to Jan 30 3:10pm
2nd battery cycle was Jan 30 5:20pm to today, 41%!

Its a lot less battery intensive then the other halfs Apple watch SE (that thing is charged daily but I guess it has LTE).

          • @ameno: For the life of me I cannot get the compass to calibrate, can you???

  • PulseOx is a big battery burner on the new garmins.

  • can you transfer your own music to it? or it has to be from streaming service like spotify or something?

    • Yeah you can
