Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Bluetooth 44mm $278 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

980

Came across an ad for JB Hi-Fi advertising the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 44mm was on sale.
The sale applies to both the Green and Silver colours, and the LTE versions are $349.

I picked up the Green LTE model a bit over a month ago during JB's last sale, and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a new smartwatch.

This is my first post, so please be gentle if I made any mistakes.

This is the international model, so not sure if things like Samsung Pay work?

      • +2

Didn't notice that, warranty period probably differs too (and have to deal with the seller)

      • +2

yep - sammy pay won't work (even if the attached galaxy is an AU model)

      • Have this watch but its UAE version.

Dont use Samsung Pay but google wallet/pay and all features working fine.

  • i have Watch 6. Is there any significant difference

    • +4

I have a 4 and am tempted. But the 4 does everything I need (track runs, play offline music)

      • ..and still supported. In the same boat with 4classic. Battery is starting to get to me ~1 day but think I can wait another year

      • +1

I didn't know you could save music on this watch to play offline. How does that feature work?

        • +1

Spotify watch app lets you download the tracks locally. Add your cc to Samsung Pay and you can experience the freedom of going for a run without your phone

      • +1

I've got the 4 and 7. The 7 has way better battery life and overall alot more smooth and zero lag.

Frustrating using the 4 but it's still doing its job for the gym.

        • Yeah I've got both 4 & 7. The 4 was fine, but the 7 does run a lot better. Better battery life and overall usage, great screen.
Was planning to use the 4 for some stuff and never ended up doing it.

If you owned the 6, it wouldn't be worth it, but the jump from 4 to 7 would be worthwhile IMO.

Hardware wise; just tiny changes to design & build and minor sensor / processing improvements (up to 30%)
Software wise; Sleep apnea + Energy Score + AI insights + longer software support updates

Only worth it (I reckon) if you place a high value on these things^

Thanks.. Yeah doesn't look like much point doing upgrade on this and wait for next version up

I had a 6 that got replaced under warranty by Samsung with a 7. Barely any difference, save your money and wait for another model if the 6 is still fine.

  • I have the 6 4g version. Really struggling with the Battery

Any significant difference between 7 LTE and 8 lte ?

  • How's the battery life for this one?

    • I have one - still dire, ie. lucky to get through a day

      • -1

That's odd perhaps may be some sort of issue on your end?

I have the same model (GW7 BT 44mm) and with AOD turned on and continuous heartrate monitoring enabled, I can definitely get 2 days out of it.

I don't wear it to sleep though, which would probably help the battery life a lot but that would still be irrelevant in this scenario if yours doesn't even get through the first day

I have a GW7 LTE 44mm, but I have LTE disabled. I have AOD turned off (but turn it on when I go out), and it lasts me day or two. I pop it on the charger every morning I go to the shower, and by the time I am back to put it on it has enough to last me through the day and the night that follows.

I really liked Fit3 that can be had for much less, and provides 95% of functionality and lasts a week, but GW is flashier.

Fit bands are the perfect value item for myself as well.

Had the Pebble Smartwatch, LG watch G100, then Armani AX watch, then Ticwatch 3 Pro, and now settled with Xiaomi Band 10 (cause the Fit3 wasn't on sale).

My use case is purely for health readings, notifications of text/call when away from my phone, and fitness tracking. Given the Xiaomi Band and Fit 3 covers 90% of my smartwatch use-case, was much better value.

I see the function of LTE/ calls on your watch when you're out and about, but honestly always carried my smartphone with me, so made no sense when I was shopping for my Ticwatch replacement after it died. The only thing I really wanted was google wallet/NFC payments outside the other features.

  • Someone found Australian variant for the TCB deal,
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1122312131… $299 - $89.70 CB = $209.3

    LTE Model:

Ill stick with my pro 5 with 590 mAh for now

  • hows the battery life vs apple watch s7? and mi band 6.

  • +1

Not sure if anyone here is cross-shopping or just interested, but I am getting around 5 days battery life from my OnePlus Watch 3 (AOD off), which cost about $330 from Aliexpress after discounts and cashback. Obviously lack of warranty is the trade off, but definitely worth it for me. Very happy with the watch.

Edit: just saw there is currently a deal posted for it here for ~$285 possibly plus some cashback.

    • I'm hearing cases of the OnePlus watch 3 user's with waterproof issues.

      • Can't comment on that front, I don't wear my smartwatches in water.

Why only 44mm model?? Wrist discrimination.

  • Good option for school kids who need calling ability and Google Maps?

  • Got one, thanks OP. I've been looking at prices for a couple of months and this is decent.

  • Having owned one for over a year now, would not recommend. Sleep tracking sucks. HR monitor not accurate. Battery is meh. Better off getting a Huawei, Apple or Xiaomi

  • Mine doesn't even last 24hrs. No LTE no Bluetooth -_-

  • thanks OP, bought green and silver

  • Do Galaxy watch 7 's ECG and Blood pressure monitor work for Pixel phone ? Thanks !

  • "The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 typically offers approximately one day of battery life, lasting around 22-28 hours with typical usage including features like Always-On Display and GPS. Daily charging is often necessary, as the battery drains quickly in 24 hours…"

After Withings Horizon 30-day battery (no GPS, but my only problem is no contactless payments) and Garmin Instinct 21-day battery (no problems here), these "charge every night" seem like a terrible and unacceptable joke. Could never justify charging a watch daily, or even weekly anymore.

  • Can you get TRS on stuff which comes to under 300$ after getting a cashback?
