Telstra you can do better. Don't buy at this price, we are probably getting a better price soon.

What is the Pixel Watch good for besides time & notifications?
Good for fitness tracking if just starting out. Fitbit app breaks stuff down clearly imo. Though would get a case for the watch as seems delicate.
NFC for payments and rewards cards. Go out without your phone and still be able to call/message people. Track sleep. Track workouts at gym without phone. Trigger home automations.
If none of these appeals to you then you are probably better off with a dumb fitness watch for longer battery life and better sport/heart rate tracking with a Garmin or Huawei GT, LTE is only really useful if you want to ditch the phone.
Thanks, when Watch OS first released, there was grand talk of watch apps. With that having gone the way of the dodo, android watches don't seem to have progressed. I do like that at least the OnePlus 3 has decent battery life to make sleep tracking a possibility.
And tickets. People are surprised when I stick my wrist out for them to scan as they were expecting a mobile …
Pixel watch 4 just about to be released with the new Google pixel 10
Do i need to buy thier plan with the watch? Is it locked to Telstra?
No, don't need to. Doubt it is locked but most of the other providers that support Esim watches run on the telstra wholesale network anyway (more, everyday, some other one I've forgotten).
