Now to find something at DJs that isn’t overpriced…

    • Only at clearance sales.

You'll have better luck finding an eBay item that hasn't been pricejacked during a promo.

    • Apple products (assuming you’re happy with paying Apple’s RRP)

  • Limited 10 cards per transaction. Not bad.

    • is that means i can buy 20 cards for two transactions?

Equates to 10% discount, but isn't enough to negate DJ exorbitant pricing..unless genuine sale items

For anyone interested in this offer and is not aware of how David Jones gift cards work, here is a summary of the important bits from the T&Cs:

    • Gift cards have a three year expiry.
    • You can only use to up five gift cards in a single transaction on the David Jones website, and up to 20 gift cards in a single transaction in-store. This is important if you’re looking for a big ticket item (e.g. iPhone 12, Dyson stick vacuum, Dolce & Gabbana stand mixer) and need to purchase it through their website.
    • You can consolidate up to ten gift cards into one new gift card at the Customer Services Desk in-store, or by contacting customer support at their head office. You may be told (like me) at a David Jones store that you cannot do this, but it is permitted in the T&Cs. Granted, the T&Cs also allows David Jones to reject your request to consolidate “large numbers” of cards at their sole discretion…
    • Purchased an item this morning and the system only allowed me to use a total of 5 payment methods - in my case 4 gift cards and 1 credit card as the gift cards did not cover the full balance.

  • It’s a little unclear whether you would get 2000 points on every gift card or is it limited to the transaction cumulatively?

Also, 10% is not a bad discount for Apple products, particularly for a b&m store.

Not sure what's unclear; it's 2000 points for every $100 gift card you buy. You can earn a maximum of 20 000 points in one transaction if you bought 10 $100 gift cards.

      • Happy to be proven wrong however the terms and conditions make no reference to accruing 20,000 points; they merely limit the number of gift cards which can be purchased in one transaction.

You clearly haven't purchased during one of these promotions before, going by your questioning.

Unlike Coles, Woolies will give you 2000 points for each $100 gift card purchased, up to a maximum of 20 000 points as you can only buy max ten $100 gift cards in one transaction.

        • It may not be clear but that is how it works.
