Was perusing the BigW website and found they have a couple colours of iPhone 12 64GB for $1309 + $7.90 delivery. Doesn't appear to be available in store, at least not on the website. Not a big discount but still a discount on a new iPhone from an Australian retailer. Also available in blue and black.

Same price at officeworks thanks Joshminey

seriously, what can we do with 64 GB?

You heard of iCloud it’s 2021

      • +5

Ozbargainers don’t like having to pay for storage every month when you can get a phone with enough storage already on it.

        • +6

I do, then I don't have to pay the price of losing everything when I lose my phone

        • No way are ozb that stupid to carry all their data with them all the time. 512gb iPhones are very expensive.

          • @onlinepred: Why don’t you just do a backup to your computer at some stage? I do that every 4 or 5 months and then don’t have to pay for the cloud cos I’m a tightarse. I’d love 512gb but 128 is doing the job so far.

@bennybaubles: For sure, I pay $129 a year for 6tb storage - 6tb for each family member. I share it across 6 users, we are all able to automatically store and access the data anywhere, and easily share it between us. We all also get Office 365, our own personal vaults, PC backups etc etc.

If you don't have a family, you can just pay a few dollars a month for storage. It's always cheaper than paying for upgraded storage in phones.

      • I'm using cloud, Google drive, one drive from 2010 😗

    • How much space are you using on your current phone now?

    • Pretty much everything you would want to do with a little phone screen? What can’t you do? Just don’t store big videos on your phone and you are good to go.

I thought 64GB was going to be restrictive but I have 5.5 GB of music (786 songs), 44 apps, 7GB of podcasts and I'm sitting on 33GB used. (iCloud Photos enabled; 50GB for $1/mo, 5000 photos are taking up 17.5GB, so even if I turned off iCloud it would still fit OK)

      • +5

If you go for a road trip and starts recording the videos in 4k. You will run out of space pretty soon

        • Unless you bring external storage, or be prepared at all i guess.

        • ^this - if your life includes any travel, where you will be offline for periods of time - camping, cruises etc

Not so much in 2020 or 2021 though…

    • I use ITunes Match for my music, cheap and saves storage.

    • 64gb I find is pretty useful, don't know about the negativity.

Unless you need 100's of gigs of photos and videos
      Apps aren't huge
Not like ps5s and xbsx where games are 100's of gigs

    • I am still using iPhone 6s with 16GB only, working well with iCloud, very durable.

Perusing? Where do you think you are, some regency costume drama? This is OzBargain, not a f$&@ing Jane f$&@ing Austen novel!

    (for the fans - also, here’s a +)

    • Allow me to pop a jaunty little bonnet on your "purview" and ram it up the shtr with a lubricated horse-c*ck!
