Have a Boost $150 80GB SIM about to expire. Two weeks before expiry, received an offer to renew to get 60GB boost.

Similar to: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/592692 - difference is 60GB boost not 40GB. Might be targeted, might apply to all expiring accounts in Feb 2020.

SMS: "Get 60GB bonus when you recharge $150 before xx February! Use in Aus in 12 months, bonus applied automatically."

First posted deal - any issues, please be nice/gentle and advise. Thanks!

      • Receive the same offer was on the $150 plan

  • Just noting that, as many others, even for those that DID receive the offer via SMS, I had to chase up one of them to get the extra GB for it to be applied manually.

So their system definitely does miss many of the bonus data that it is meant to apply automatically.

  • Got the sms today, due to expire in 2 weeks and got the extra 60gb

Though hasn't been applied within 10mins, so looks like I'm chasing them up over the weekend!

  • Any one have problems with boost mobile's internet speed? My download speed is pretty slow (around 5mbps), to be honest, much slower than Telstra one.

Got 140gb for $150 via chat. Wasn't too difficult.

    • How does one get the chat feature, all I get is that automated simo

      • +1

Keep asking it for a real person

        • Worked a treat - thanks!

    • No deal here with live chat.

"Thank you so much, Tony. Alright I already have your account here. So as you have mentioned that some of your friends received a 40GB bonus on their device. It is actually a targetted offer per number generated by the system, Tony.

Not everyone is getting that bonus at the same time. You might not received it now but there will be a certain time that you will receive those offers, Tony."

      Sad face.

      • Keep trying until you get the right rep

        • I did mention that my recharge was due soon, and I was looking elsewhere for a better plan. He then offered 40gb which I have accepted. Thanks for the tip, and well done on your 140 GB!

  • So I have the 60gb bonus offer SMS but when I click the link to recharge I can't see any mention of the bonus data. Did anyone have the same and still get the bonus data when they renewed?

    • +1

Same happened here but after recharged got the bonus data.

  • Me and my partner with boost for a year. Very much happy with the service and coverage. Ours expires on 26/03. Received sms on 13 to recharge before 27/03 to get 60GB bonus for a $150 recharge that offers 80GB default. I recharged today the 26/03 and when checking Balance using the Boost app default page, bonus data didnt show up. Received a sms stating 60GB bonus is added, upon checking MY Balance it doesn't show up on home screen. But showed up in the detailed My Balance history screen. Also noted that the bonus data is consumed first.

  • can you still receive sms when overseas now?

  • I was up for renewly and i never received a bonus offer.
I jumped onto the "message us" and got onto a human.
I asked for the bonus data as others have been offered 60 -80 GB. They said I don't have an offer.
I said I was hoping they could apply the offer to my account. BAM 80Gb bonus data so 160GB for $150
As others have pionted out its doesn't show as 160GB, I have 2 x 40GB lines that are getting used first. Its annoying that my previous years data isn't getting used first (its only 178MB), it expires in a couple of days.
    Thanks to the OP

  • On chat they said they knew of the offer on the $150 recharge, but it had expired.

    • Update: Told them I was only going to recharge today if I got bonus data

      Got 60 GB bonus data

Recharged while still on live chat, and they applied it afterwards immediately

  • just recharged my $150 plan, received 60gb bonus when I asked on live chat. what a good deal (140gb total)!
    kudos to Boost Mobile.

  • +1

FYI: I recharged mine today for $150.
The '#111# doesn't show the bonus at all, but Boost app show it pretty much in a few minutes - remember to turn off WiFi and 'PRESS FOR MORE INFO' in the app.

    • Did you live chat before recharge or it's auto apply bonus ?

      • I didn't live chat. Just recharged on Safari on my iPhone then it's auto-applied. BTW the text I received saying 'get bonus 60GB when you recharge before 20th Aug' and I recharged right on the day.

        • Despite all these successful recharges, I assume everyone is getting moved off the $150 plan?

We successfully recharged on the $150 plan but then got a SMS saying we'd be moved off it in September. Is it the same for everyone else?

If so - any better choices?

          • @dealz4all: Need to recharge in 3 days - are you charged any additional fee for switching plans automatically, and what plan does it switch over to?

I can still see the $150 plan as an option. I haven't received any of the targeted SMS or email discounts they've sent out.

            • @Techie4066: Got a text that I'll be moved over automatically to the new plans, but 5 days after my plan expires?? Which would presumably wipe my data rollover.

The link contains a section which says I'll be sent the $50 off the $200 recharge + 30GB bonus… all sounds ambiguous to say the least.

  • got the SMS today of 60GB bonus before 24th January. the expiry for me is 23rd jan.

    • are they still offering the $150 six month offer as i thought it was now only 12mths $200 or $300

      • The $150 plan is gone, so our phones are about to be ported to another provider.

  • What is this Boost mobile chatline people speak of? I call up and get crickets, and there is no live chat online.

Considering leaving them as the good deals have gone and nobody answers the phone anymore.

    • In case if helps you (or anyone), there appears to be a chat here:

      Click Message Us.

      Message from the bot:

I have just had my $150 80GB 12 month prepaid plan from the last year expire today (Sunday). Yesterday (Saturday) I got an SMS to say I needed to recharge. No mention of bonus GB or discount. When I opened the new MyBoostMobile app and went to the recharge section, I had a discount offer waiting for my use. $50 off the $200 recharge, now $150 for 100GB with 12 months credit (with a deal expiry of 19 Feb 2022). So I took it.

Then later in the afternoon I received an SMS to say that "your bonus has been added to your account to use in Australia." I went back into the Boost app and I've now got 130GB (30GB bonus). No mention of the 30GB bonus anywhere on the Boost website, app or my recharge conditions. YMMV.

    • FWIW, I received a SMS offering the $50 discount and extra data. However, when I tried to recharge, the discount did not show up. (It might show up after I click pay, but I'm not planning to risk it.)

So it's definitely a running offer. I'm chasing it up with their chat to see if they can do anything about it.

The message I have says you would need to recharge by 19 Feb to take advantage of the deal.

    • i also got the email to recharge today. I went to the app and unfortunately no discount for me. I am going to wait until mine expires tomorrow and see what happens

  • +1

Also got the $50 off discount text from Boost, went to website saw no option.

This is what I got from the chat "We can do this but, manually. You will recharge and pay $200 upfront and message us back after 3-5 business days so we can manually apply the offer by doing a manual refund."

I went ahead with the recharge as mine credit expired already. Will ping them back next week and let you guys know the outcome.

    • That’d be awesome, cheers hobbyseeker

  • Hobbyseeker any update on your $50 refund? I have a $150 plan expiring in 10 days and also got the same $50 off your next recharge on the plan upgrade page.

  • +1

i bought the new $200 sim pack and recharged and received extra 40gb. It was quick and easy to transfer my original number over via boost chat

  • Just recharged today. Paid $200 upfront, messaged Boost on chat that I was expecting a $50 discount (as per their SMS) but was charged the full amount. They verified, confirmed and then straight away processed the $50 refund. I even got the email notification of $50 refund from my payment provider while I was still on the chat.

Thanks for the update bigbadboogieman! Will do the same.

I just got another $150 renewal in. That's 2 since they announced the $150 option was discontinued. Quite surprised but I am not complaining.

  • Just got an email to this effect

From 27 April you will be updated to our new Boost Mobile Prepaid Plan.

Until then, you can keep using your service as usual.

Recharge expiry - We have simplified our recharge options. All recharges will now have either a 7 day, 28 day or 12 month expiry period, depending on the recharge amount.

International Calls & Text - On recharges of $30+, you'll get heaps of standard international calls to 50 selected destinations (including unlimited calls to 20 selected destinations), plus text to all countries.
