  • Price looks good. I got something similar in the DSE deal of the day a while back for $29.
I could use another; don't know much about "Huntkey" products though. Does anyone have any info on them?

    • Hard to beat Huntkey for value for money. Compare these to lower speced and higher priced brands and you'll see how good it looks. Also previously known or OEMed as Cabac. Whirlpool has some decent reviews.

  • got 1 from cotd. it was cheaper.
    bargain if free shipping

definitely better than the 1 from Arista (or whatever brand)

    edit: shipping included!
    i want 1

    • Cotd did these for $26,90, same as OO. Haven't seen these cheaper then $24.95 shipped.

      • they had a coupon code thingy which took $10 off if total purchase was over $20

    • but arista http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60264
has USB.. i really like arista but i have one from bigW (forget the brand, special $) few month ago :(

      • yeh but they're fragile.
plugs wont fit all the way in.

Getting one, with a million dollars insurance they cannot be too bad. I wish I had never found OzBargain it has cost me a fortune in the last couple of months.

I dont know why the insurance thing is in USD and not in AUD. Is there any catch in it?

I dont like COTD, but they still have one, with individual switches, which is needed if you have more than 4 switches in a power board.

Yep, fair point. I was wondering about that myself! It also looks very similar to this Jackson unit: http://www.ji.com.au/pdfs/PT9987_DATASHEET.pdf

The price is pretty decent considering the free shipping, the cheapest I can find elsewhere seems to be around the $27-$28 ballpark sans shipping! :)

  • i bought 3 of these from somewhere a few months ago- only 1 still works, so i'm not too impressed

  • Judging from this:

. "the surge protector is before the switch
. rather than after with a wide space between each socket."

I'm NOT convinced it's all that safe, at least, compared
to higher quality (read: better designed IMO) devices.

Consider what happens, eg, if any of the connected devices
happen (however unlikely it may be) to get hit by lightening.

Since there only seems to be -one- surge protector in the
Huntkey device, I'd say any such device could/would likely
"kill" all other devices plugged into the same surge prot'r.

I've owned devices that isolate (at least pairs of power-
sockets), as well as the grid from the devices plugged-in.

In that design, there was some limit (eg, 1 other device) on
    the loss.

You'd use the better surge protector if, say, you had several
improtant servers, or even NAS servers, connected through it.

    My 2.2 cents only… ;-)

  • Are these more or less the same?

Shipping isn't too bad and if you order multiple packs, their combined shipping rates are excellent.
