  • is this better than the official switch pro controller?

    • +1

in some ways yes, others no

dpad is definitely better so if you're into 2d fights i'd use this

but if you're really into 2d fighters i'd either use a hori commander or a fight stick over this

      Sometimes, sometimes not.

The dpad is miles better, it has analogue triggers, the buttons and sticks IMO feel better in regards to tension and smoothness, it works really well on PC (although you can't get analogue triggers + motion controlls to work at the same time, only one or the other as far as I know). This also apparently has better wireless latency than the pro controller.

The pro controller's design is more comfortable to hold imo, this one is a little too wide and I prefer the Xbox style stick layout of the pro. This can't turn the switch on by itself like the pro controller can and you turn the controller on by pressuring start + y which is a bit weird. IMO the pro controller is also much better better looking but ymmv

It's not a cheap crappy third party controller that's for sure. It's a good alternative to the pro controller and manages to be a lot cheaper. Also the sticks don't drift lol

    • Switch controller sucks for Tetris.

    • Depends on which games you play. I use the SPC on my PC and Switch for most modern games, and use this 8bitdo for 2d games, fighting games and puzzle games, i.e stuff where you need a d-pad.

  • Would this be a good option for Genshin? havn't used a controller since i was like 12 and i'm currently wanting 1 to play genshin on my tablet whenever i'm not at home.
