I thought you wrote that they had some PS3's available on their eBay store. Yes, I need new glasses.

That's a good price for what it is but I think the portable version I got for $95 is arguably better value - I even use it in the shower. I'd rate the features (of the portable version) as 10 out of 10 (i.e. portable Google Assistant, AirPlay, water resistant, no need to plug in to charge, USB-C, physical power off button) but the sound quality is a 5 - my JBL Link View which has a similar power rating absolutely kills it in that regard.

but the sound quality is a 5

I thought that is the most important bit for a speaker

      • Would you say the same about the Google Nest Mini, which sells for around the same price as this? I have a few and don't use these for music either. I use this mostly for podcasts / audiobooks and being able to take a Google Assistant to the shower with me, or when traveling, is also pretty nifty.

Yeah, I managed to find one, but they are discontinued so hard to come buy.
I would totally buy another 1-2 at the $95 price though, its seriously awesome. I have NO idea why it got discontinued aside from possibly high price.

Example - I was using it in the shower to listen to a recorded livestreamed concert playing on my Apple TV - then I decided to change to another song from Spotify by telling Google.
The combined ecosystems is crazy good and I dont think there's much else out there that do both Apple and Gooogle.

      • I love listening to tv in the shower. I don’t have to exercise any self control!

It seeds dumb… but I can actually see my bedroom TV from my ensuite, using the built in wardrobes mirror.

      • Thanks - grabbed one

    • How's the bass on the portable version?

      • +1

        Not great at all

  • UE boom or this?

    • +1

      This isn't portable

      • How is it not portable?

        • No batteries

        • No battery. Need the portable version for that

  • This or a Wonderboom?

  • Officeworks price Match?

    • If you can find it at Officeworks, they will for sure match it. I can't find the speaker on their online site.

  • These are good. I'm using them with google tv via bluetooth instead of a soundbar.

    • Do you find any delay?

      • no, two in separate rooms different tvs

  • Nice, got one :-)

how many speakers does one house need?

    • Just one giant one in the centre

  • How does this compare to a Google Nest Audio? Sound quality and functionality wise

    • +1

I just got one and listened to it…

If money were no issue, I would have replaced all my nest audio with this one.

    • Functionality, the same. Sound, better.

  • Can you sync up multiple?

    • +1

If you set up a google account, you can use the google home app to put them into a 'speakers' group or similar.

      • +1

You can also pair 2 for stereo mode.

  • This was $60 at the good guys and Harvey Norman for a very long time around December/January. I bought one.. awesome speaker.

  • Bought one for the bathroom. Thanks

  • There's still stock at the whitfords store.

  • I grabbed one from Big W Elizabeth and can't get it to pair with my phone on blu tooth

    • +1

Download Google Home and set it up. Then ask google to "Pair bluetooth" device.

      • Cheers got it working now

  • Damn these are good. Was looking at Google Nest/Home speakers but they do the same job for less. Drove 50mins out to sunbury to snag one of the last ones. Worth it.

  • I got this and portable one. Can someone tell me how to connect to google home?

    • Turn the JBL on, wait 30 seconds until it plays its little tune, open Google Home and add it - mine was detected and had a prompt at the top to "add JBL Link".
Otherwise, just go through the add new device procedure and follow the prompts.
