      It depends on the quality of the 4K stream. Technically it would be possible to stream the same data (e.g. 4K with HDR and Dolby Atmos) but this would require every part of the pipeline from the streaming servers to TV to have sufficient resources. The reality is that streaming servers don't stream 4K with the same bit-rate and many parts of the pipeline are under-resourced.

  assuming disney+ provides 4k streams, then that's 6GB per movie instead of the 50GB that's on a uhd disc. and the perceivable difference in quality between both is night and day

  Interesting, I would have assumed that at least some of these were rendered in 4K for cinema release, but I'm now doubting that assumption.

    I don't think the computing power exists to render true 4k unless it is shot in 4k as live action. I know cgi movies can't do this yet. Upscaled to 4k pixels which new tv's and devices can do to 2k content.

  Prices and stock fluctuate as they sell through stock/restock / revert to 3rd parties, etc. Its been going on for over a week with the 4k clearance they are doing.Delivery estimates, stock delays, refilling of stock is haphazard.
