The Samsung UA60D6600 Series 6 60" is a super large television with an ultra slim profile! This LED TV has the power of the internet at the touch of your fingers. Integrated Wi-fi and web browsing capabilities make this a perfect partner to your digital home entertainment configurations. The Samsung SmartHUB application allows you to play YouTube videos, stream live internet video, Skype and Facebook - all directly from your television set without having to connect a desktop computer.

The 3D technology in the Samsung UA60D6600 is really outstanding. It features a 2D-3D internal converter, so ordinary 2D movies seem to jump off the screen! • Site says $1999 not $1899?

No mention of cash back on the site?

    • not sure, the image on the site days there is

      • Check the T&C's of the cashback - it only applies if the TV was purchased from a brick and mortar store with the exception of a couple of authorised online retailers.

        • Fair enough, I saw this though http://www.bigbrownbox.com.au/samsung/smart-tv-cashback-chri… how do you find out which online retailers are eligible?

        • in their small print it says that one of the authorised online retailers is appliances online, and big brown box is a part of that company. Also, BBB have been advertising the cashback all over their site the past week or two.

  • Anyone know if this TV is any good? Maybe compared to Samsung's top of the range 59" plasma?

    • Only 100 hertz, I am pretty sure the 8 series are equiv 200 in led terms yeah?

      • Your eyes can tell?
I have the 55" D6600 and the picture quality is excellent
        This price is amazingly low!

    • I have the exact same model for about 5 months and I brought it at Bing Lee. But I got the 40" one, and brought it for $1200ish. The package included a battery powered 3d glasses and they also gave me the rechargeable battery 3d glasses for free. Its a good television, and luckily haven't had a single problem with it that was major. Some problems like rescanning for frequency, but that's about it.

To tell you the truth, the 2d-3d converter is just a gimmmick for you to purchase the tv in my honest opinion. I personally don't use the 2d-3d converter at all after a couple of weeks using the function. It's best to use the 3d converter at 1080p quality movies. Also change the settings for the 2d-3d converter to maximum, you will notice a big difference in the conversion.

The tv guide info function is laggy, when pressed to load all the tv guide information (10 seconds). The natural sound coming from the tv is pretty good, compared to other brands such as Sony and Toshiba. But it's best to purchase your own home theatre system, in which I got the 2 rear cableless speaker theatre system from Samsung for $400-600.

The Samsung magazine stresses about the quality of the Mhz, when I was comparing with the other televisions available. In reality, I can't tell the difference and you won't brag about it to pull chicks with it to.

My personal tips when looking at televisions.

      1) If possible try out the speakers on the television, to see the quality of the sounds coming from the television.
      2) Change the brightness of the television to natural, because that is generally the normal brightness that you will use. Most shops will use the Dynamic function.
      3) Realised bigger isn't always better, it's how you use it.

  • bubblicious, are you affiliated with Bigbrownbox?

    • nope.. wait, i have bought of them?

  • This is seriously cheap - $2600 was a good price 2 months ago.

I have a bad feeling the 60" 8000 series TV I just paid $3200 for is gonna drop to about $2600 in January…

    • It's ridiculous ay, at the rate it's going in like 2014 tvs will be $99 for a 60"

They can't get bigger really, how many can honestly comfortabl for a 70"

      • 100" LCDs and 103" Plasmas exist for a few years now actually, just that I don't think they ever went into mass production for obvious cost reasons…

        • Bang & Olufsen 103 inch plasma, $100,000+

72 will be the big screen for 2012, few suppliers bringing them out at retail level..

        • 72 will be the big screen for 2012, few suppliers bringing them out at retail level..

I remember seeing a 100" in a shop in HK. back in 2010 DEC.

    • samsungs 64inch 8000 series I was quoted $2600 yesterday PS64d8000, getting cheap!

      • Where was that quoted from betgerberger?

  • 70inch sharp aquos 3d led lcd around $4650 at Harvey Norman greensbourgh earlier this week. Saw them in USA at Sears back in July for $2999.00. Hate to think how cheap they are over there now. Was mounted next to a 60 inch it made it look tiny
Was a great picture which I was surprised.
