  • “ waiving change and cancellation fees for travel up to 31 January 2022, for bookings made by 30 April 2022.”- you’d need a time machine to make that booking.

yeah their website was worse - even has 20212 as a date twice! Sorted, thanks.

  • One-way Business fares between Sydney-Melbourne from $1991

    I think you meant $199

    • Yes, copied and pasted, but they have random '1's all over their news release. Thanks, fixed.

What if you book with travel credit? Does the same T&Cs apply?

    • +3

I recently changed a travel credit booking, no additional fees were applied

  • Wondering whether they'll still charge change fees for flights booked via ANZ Travel Rewards… Was meant to fly to Adelaide in a couple of weeks from Melbourne but unlikely that's going to happen now. :(

Nah they don’t I had my flight change when Perth closed their borders to Victoria in October.

  • Did they get a new intern to write up that press release; the quality is terrible.
Hopefully they fly planes with more professionalism.

  • Would a fare difference apply to these $199 business class flights to Sydney if you were to change a date later outside March?

    • Of course. Only the change fees are waived - fare difference still applies.

  • I booked the "Getaway" fare and it specifically said no refunds, but yet everywhere I'm reading says there is no exclusions to their COVID-19 refund policy (including the booking confirmation screen that said "We'll waive change/cancel fees up until 31 Jan 2022"). Did I purchase an airfare not covered by that policy or am I good?

I think by refund, they mean you're not getting your money back; you'll get a credit to use on future flights

      • Thanks - that's fine, just wanted to make sure I was getting a refund in some form.

Double check with Virgin themselves; I could be wrong
