You're too fast.. For some reason I had the deal link as the last Meritline flashlight sale posted on OzBargain instead of a link to the actual item page. -_-

I think that's a cue for me to get some sleep.

        You're too fast..

my missus just said the same thing !!!

"what did your missus have to say about the performance of this item?!"

Small, easy to keep at hand, works well…

          That its only 3.4 inches.

short run time, dull, grey ….

  • Are they any good or cheap and crappy, going to break within a few months..? I'll probably buy a couple if they are decent.

    • Are they any good or cheap and crappy, going to break within a few months..?

      they cost $1

      • oh yeah, and i just realised you can only buy 1 at that price.. lol

    • Mine feels pretty solid. I've already accidently dropped it a few times and other than 1 minor little scratch it's held up well.

I also tried twisting and prying it apart to see if I'll need to re-glue it as I'd rather do it now then wait till it falls apart on me when I need it to be working, but it's all staying in place. Won't be coming apart any time soon I don't think.

I just got one of the previous yellow batch.
You can't really expect much for $1 delivered to your door, but for the price I reckon they are great.
Solid aluminium case, bright light, although only short beam length, good for indoor emergency light but
    pretty useless for outdoors.

    • "short beam length, pretty useless for outdoors"

I'm not sure what kind of outdoorsy stuff you're doing, but when I went and tested mine in the yard the other night, it lit up a good 20-25 meters ahead of me with a pretty wide field of view angle. It would be more than adequate around a camp site in my opinion.

It's obviously not going to light the place up like a floodlight, but it provides enough light that you can clearly see what's 20 meters ahead of you which for me is way more than what I was expecting from a dollar flashlight from Asia.

I have to eat my words on my statement, just tried the flashlight outside again and it is as good as you suggested. Not sure why I thought it was so bad the other evening when I tried it.
Another thing I just noticed with the yellow cased light was that it glows in the dark, made it very easy to spot on the kitchen table.

  • i quite like http://www.meritline.com/15-led-tent-lamp-camping-light---p-… . $0.99 when they are on special every so often. good for illuminating an area.

  • omg i missed out again

    damn hehehe

got to be a faster oz bargainer :D

no not a fast oz bargainer, one who has no life who lurks around around 1-2am in the morning looking for .99 cent bargains from meritline.com……

u mad gramps? I'll see if I can save you one next time if you're going to get worked up like this each time.

      • Umm, I believe the correct use for the meme is: U mad gramps bro? :p

Gramps bro does indeed appear to be mad, as am I bro; I like my crappy bargains from Meritline, but I like my rack time & I must accept that if you snooze you lose bro! ;)

    x-pie-ed

  • Our local $2 style shop sells these with batteries for $2 (obviously) but you cant complain for $1 delivered.

If anyone wants a better torch for themselves these things are great: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120817114680 Nice wide beam telescopes down to a spotlight with quite a huge range. Runs on one AA so far easier than 3xAAA

Edit: the are on that site as well but a bit more expensive: http://www.meritline.com/focus-zoom-lens-flashlight-light---…

  • Don't fret if you miss out, they're only a few cents more on ebay, search "9 LED Flashlight" and you'll find it

Me mad, no way, maybe I have a life outside ozbargain…..
    I knew I get a few bites.
Medical research has proven that approx 7 hrs sleep is good for ya…
Anyway I appreciate anyone who is brave enough to put up a bargain like ace.
Keep up the good work ace
The feedback on deals have helped me make the right purchase.

  • I feel like I should buy cheapo batteries for this once it arrives. The only AAA batteries I have at the moment cost more than the flashlight itself. Each.

    • thats why i would go with the one i linked a few posts up. Only needs one AA and is heaps brighter.
Difference in price will be made up quickly with the cost of 3 AAA.
