Purchased through these guys previously. Product arrived damaged, returns policy states they don't cover physical damage. Steer clear, and wait for a similar deal from a more reputable seller.

    • +1

I'd rather buy from Amazon, hopefully they price match.

    • +2

Purchased through these guys previously. Item arrived next day in WA and no damage to the product, courier was cool and even gave me a call when I didn't hear the doorbell because I was out back. YMMV

      • +4

completely moot example. A lucky experience doesn't say much about their customer service. You can also get lucky playing the lottery, and that's what these guys seem to be if what stated above is true.

      • +66

Did this last time. You ignored me after I messaged.

        • +8

Lol seems all talk but no action.

      • +34

I’m going to keep my eye out on this. If Gary Gary Gary doesn’t publicly state that you were able to resolve his order issue im gonna be very cautious of buying from your store; considering he has messaged before.

        • +1

dealt several times with this store and was faultless

          • +1

@slipperypete: Have you ever had to make a warranty claim?

The fact that other people receive faultless service is of little comfort to those who receive defective products and are don't have their issues resolved.

        • +4

Yep, keeping an eye on this too, give us an update Gary x3

          • +2

@ThatsCheap: Lol relying on one random ozb member just because they have an ozb account. I've ordered from W1 no issues.

        • +4

Agreed. Without your reputation, you're nothing. I'm not going to risk it with this seller if they're dodgy.

        • +5

Speakers arrived with the domes pushed in. Company said send them back but stated that they will decide if damage was caused by them. Their terms clearly state that they don’t cover physical damage. So basically had to pay full price for subpar speakers.

          • @Gary Gary Gary: So you didn't send them back?

            • +7

@Ononono: They told me plainly if it's not their fault I'd get no refund. So absolutely no confidence in sending them back. How'd they'd decide where the damage happened I'd have no idea.

              • @Gary Gary Gary: I would recommend send it back to them, if they refused your damaged claim submit your case to Fair Trading.

        • +3

A company that only supports customers after they are called out on an internet forum isn't one I want to deal with.

    • better buy under amazon…

    • +10

Complain to your state's fair trading agency. Product is not of acceptable quality and supplier refuses to provide a remedy.

If you want a refund, do a chargeback through your credit card provider.

      • This, and you're done.

    • -5

I've bought the R170BT from Wireless1 before and the package arrive in good condition and product worked absolutely fine.

Sounds like your issue was with the courier and you can't really blame Wireless 1 for this.

      • +15

Sure, but Wireless1 are the courier’s customer, so they need to resolve any issues on behalf of their own clients.

    • +7

We are in Australia. Where customers have all the rights believe it or not. If this was purchased on a CC, instant charge back without fail if they don't fix it.

    • +1

I ordered the s350DB from them in December and the box and packaging arrived all banged up. The original packaging came ripped and almost damaged the subwoofer. Luckily there was styrofoam protected it but I am not sure if it sustained internal damage as I find the sub‘s bass is not strong as other boasted. It was probably the courier’s fault (Startrack) but yeah I could have easily ran into a situation similar to Gary Gary Gary‘s. Having said that I have ordered from Wireless 1 in the past (a SSD purchase) and the order was received in good condition.

    • +2

Gary³ let us know how this endeavour ends

  • The Edifier 1700 at this price are so very tempting… I have Z623 at home and it's excessive for my apartment, but I love it.

I've seen many a discussion comparing the Z623 to the cheap Edifier offerings in the past. Now that the Logitech are nearly twice the price they once were, would anyone recommend the 1700 as a cheap home theatre experience for watching the occasional movie, despite it not having the sub of the Z623? Or is the Logitech still preferable due to its RMS output? Not looking for an audiophile experience, just something that solidly owns the room.

    • +1

I think these will serve you nicely.

    • +1

I have both the Logitechs and these, and would recommend the Edifier everyday. Function and form are better in every respect imo.
Temper your expectations and you'll love them.

  • +3

I have a pair of the 1700s as my computer speakers and they are brilliant. I watch a lot of tv/movies whilst doing business work (great to multi-task) and the Edifiers certainly punch way above their weight division. I was considering changing them to the Edifier E25HD but love these too much.
For a small speaker, they also deliver a punchy bass.

  • I am tossing up between the s3000pro and Klipsch the fives…. Can't get sound demos of either around here

    • Aren't the Fives 2-3x the price? Feels like a tough comparison.

      • 2x the price yes. The s3000pro is 6.5 inch driver vs 5.5. S3000pro also has bass/treble controls while Klipsch does not. Klipsch has cec and HDMI arc. Klipsch looks far better.

I'm torn as i want to save money, but also value convenience. Just want to hear them both. So i have a budget of $1500, the fact that the s3000pro is meant to hit above it's weight for less is why I'm considering it

        • S3000pro owner here. Not sure about the Klipsch, but when you get the S3000's, you'll want to return them if you have a larger room. But DON'T, the break-in period for the woofer is so damn long, not sure if they use superglue, but it is noticeably better, stronger and less muffled than when I got it 4 months ago. About 2 hours normal listening on them every day since then.

Worth every penny. over 70m2 room here with 3.6m ceiling

1 complaint, remote is weak or just poor receiver placement, but you have to be pointing directly at the right speaker for it to work. If placed lower than eye level, you have to get real low

          • @plague69: Yea all the reviews seem incredible for them. The remote is one main reason I am inclined to go the CEC route with Klipsch only because my use will be 90% TV. But man the 6.5 woofer vs 5.5 woofer is definitely worrying me as I don't want a sub. I'll go test out the klipsch on the weekend, pitty I can't test the s3000pro.

          • @plague69: From reading the online reviews, some say the s2000mkiii sounds better than the s3000pro especially in smaller rooms. I am not sure which I should go with. I kinda want to try the A100 with a sub too but the A100 doesn’t have Bluetooth 5.0.

            • @FrugalNotStingy: S2000mk3 is for desktop use or near field, whole s3000pro suits bigger rooms or TV use

    • +4

I too am tossing up between a Ferrari and a Suzuki Swift.

      • +1

I would say Suzuki as whatever Ferrari is double the price of a swift, can't be good

    • Why not kef lxs

      • From reviewed, they aren't as good at wide imaging for movies. Also don't like their appearance, and they don't come in wood. This is a driving factor from the other half for the Klipsch fives as they look really great.

Also for that price if I'm using with tv i would want cec.

  • +2

Got the R1700s a couple of months ago, and they're pretty insane for their price. The bass & volume they put out for 4 inch drivers with no sub really took me by surprise (I guess the DSP is doing some upper harmonic stuff for bass psychoacoustics?). I'd take these over a Logitech 2.1 set any day.

  • +5

Iv'e had the R1700's for a month now , bought from wireless 1 the last time they had them on special. The sound quality for the price , make them by far the best value speakers on the market . Iv'e had the Z623's , and would choose the 1700's over them.

BTW , my experience with wireless 1 was great , they were even delivered before the expected date.

    • +2

My experience with wireless 1 was top notch as well, bought a TP-Link switch and it arrived promptly and in perfect working order.

    • +1

Agreed. I also had a good experience with Wireless1.

  • Worth getting the 1280 over the 1700 for the Optical and Bluetooth or are the extra RMS on the 1700 a better choice for the price?

Edit: Scrap that just saw that the 1700 are Bluetooth

    • i think the R1280DB are also bluetooth, i am in the same dilemma

      • +2

For what's its worth… I just set up my r1280dbs with a Subwoofer and I'm blown away.

    • +3

definitely get the 1700. have the 1280 right now and wish i ordered the larger ones.

      • thanks HasibA

      • +1

        Just ordered the 1700.

    • +3

From my experience of having both,

1280 is better if you want a balanced sound - clear bass, mids and treble. But lacks in power compared to 1700.

1700 is better if you want more power but has muddy bass that bleeds into mids.

    ditto …

  • its charging me $21.44 for shipping , am i doing something wrong?

    • Have you added code ?

    • Did the same thing for me, literally went out and back into the cart and free shipping was there

  • +1

Thanks Joseph , i found the free shipping button too , ordered 1 , Thanks OP

  • +3

Purchased the Edifier 1700BT. Use them as desktop speakers. Well worth the money. Great sound and for the price, literally cannot get anything as good as these on the market. Highly recommend.

  • Rep @SilverXP: Assuming the MSI GE66 doesn't sell out, is there an expiry date on this price?

    • -1

      Hi TimeOrMoney,

      It should end on Monday.

At that price it will sell out very soon I believed.

      • Hey there,
I just placed an order and I actually need to cancel it before it goes too far into processing, is there a way for us to do that?

I would very much appreciate it. :(

        • Likewise, I would also like to cancel my order. Reading the previous comments and reviews has lowered my trust in the product being delivered safe and sound.

          • @cherrypick: Oh I mean, if you put an order with PayPal, trust in PayPal, they're the thickest safety net I've ever had for the past 10 years.

I just wanna cancel it because my dumb bf insists he wouldn't use it 🙄🙄🙄
I was stupid enough to purchase before asking

  • Can I get s3000pro and hook it up to a receiver with 3 other speakers for 5.1 surround ? Looking for best price / value for a ps5 system. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

These are active so not really.

    • No

  • +1

I bought the S3000PRO last time they sold at this price. Mine arrived perfectly fine and I couldn't recommend them enough (only used for PC gaming)

    • +1

I received the S3000pro in two working days in Sydney and the box arrived in perfect condition.

  • +1

My previous orders arrived perfectly, ordered another pair for the living room.

  • How much difference R1700BT and Edifier M1390BT? Only have M1390BT for 6 months, not sure if it's worth the upgrade for R1700BT

  • -3

Lol they just put the laptop price up over $300 from $2698

OP you need to change the price.

They say here to another customer in this thread the price will be as listed to Monday then put it up over $300 a few hours later.

    • Put in the discount code described above to get that price at check out LOL.

      • When I clicked it earlier the price without discount was 2698 listed straight away on the site, I then went back to look at some specs and the price was up 2998.00. So as I said regardless of the discount code the price I originally saw stamped on their website soon as the deal went live was 2698, 2 hours later they put it up to 2998.

Maybe a system error at the start of the promo. Because it appeared it was a actually a decent price but now not so sure.

  • Anyone getting charged delivery of $21.44?

    • click out of the cart, then back in. Should be an option for free shipping then.

  • I’m trying to decide and it’s tough at these prices, I need a laptop desperately for work.

I’ve ordered a macbook air with 16gb ram and 1tb storage + 8core cpu/gpu but still waiting for it to ship.

Then I see the MSI GS75 Stealth on these guys website for a massive discount

Last years 17inch razer 4k 120hz touch screen laptop

And this GE66 but the build quality of this compared to the top 3 looks a bit meh.

Anyway, I will do some gaming on it and I know with Apple I can use geforce now which is supposed to work great and the rest will be purely for work which includes customer design, word, pdf and a crm system I’ll game when I’m home but not when I’m out but battery life os somewhat important.

And normally I’m a desktop pc guy or just use my ipad, any suggestions from you guys that may have more experience? I can cancel my apple order still as it hasn’t shipped yet but it’s a tough call, also that sweet resell price of apple for future upgrades seems attractive by comparison to windows machines. But again these prices are very tempting but also years old hardware and the m1 chip is straight up cracked for performance and battery life.

    Hard decision…

  • Can the R1700BT be used as rear speakers with 3.1 soundbar system?

  • Just purchased the R1700BT for my dads birthday. I'll let you know when I get them

  • I have also had a pretty bad exp with this mob previously. Long story short, ordered Ubi nano APs in Nov and no sight of them till late Jan. When queried, their standard response was, its sold out and we are expecting stock next week. This went on for another 3 weeks. I had to send them an email ever week after their own deadline for shipping as a polite reminder. Finally received them in non-standard packaging.
I would pay $$ more elsewhere than do business with them.

    • Hi cosmoxeon,

  • Anyone pair these with a Samsung TV? Just worried about audio lag with Bluetooth…

    Thanks

  • I just purchased the s3000pro will post a review when they arrive in WA. I already own a set of R1700BTs and R1280DB. I'm no expert but have found them excellent value for money.

  • The seller has done some dodgy tactics before so we can't let them make use of a platform like OzB. These dodgy sellers don't deserve to be here.

The deal's a good deal, your poor attempt at intentionally looking for negatives has nothing to do with the deal.
We all may have negative experiences with this store or any store for that matter. It happens.

Garygarygary might aswell be a competitor to Wireless1 for all we know.

You have to be objective when you're judging.

      • +2

        Hello Kundi,

We all may have negative experiences with this store or any store for that matter. It happens.

Exactly. Thats why we need to call out and alert fellow consumers.

Garygarygary might aswell be a competitor to Wireless1 for all we know.

That is not a new phenomenon and retail stores already know how to handle it. But I don't see any follow-up comments or update from the store-rep here.

Also, it is not that hard to make a user profile and start defending any dodgy stores. So, my comment & neg vote are still valid and relevant for real customers.

Some cheapstakes like the one below has gone to great extent to compare this dodgy store to Apple, Microsoft etc. Just one word - pathetic.

        • You can't shame a store over a bad experience , you're damaging businesses - how do you know Gary didn't receive a fine product, didn't like it, and since the store actually doesn't accept free change-of-mind returns , he damaged it himself?
I know for a fact Edifier packs their speakers like they're nuclear bombs with lots of padding and sometimes double boxes.

Its okay to have a negative opinion of a store, but calling to boycott a store over a bad experience will leave us with no stores here besides random dropshipping eBay posts.

Be more mindful of how you treat businesses.

I'm sure Garygarygary could've picked up a phone and rang them and they would've been as courteous as they've been to me when I cancelled my order.

and besides, this isn't a contact-page for the store. Sure, a representative answered, but he could've gone the extra mile, care for himself and contact the store directly.

  • Hi SilverXP,

I bought the s3000pro on 13/2. The order is still under processing. When will I expecting to receive the item as I can't wait? :) Cheers

  • +1

Have the 1700BT, got them directly from Edifier for about $140. They're quite good PC speakers. They are a lot more bass than I expected so you may need to fiddle with the Bass/Treble to your liking.

One important thing to note is that they only have Volume/Bass/Treble knobs. The on/off, Bluetooth/Line switch and other controls are all only on the remote, so if it breaks or you lose it you are SOL, but I imagine they probably sell replacements.

Another handy feature is the Line inputs will play simultaneously, so if you plug these into your PC you can also plug some other source in and have it play both.

    Would recommend.

  • Anyone got their order delivered or progress somewhat?

    • Just logged in into my wireless1 account. It says shipped with Startrack and provides a tracking number that doesn't work!

    • Mine just showed up today. ordered on Sunday evening to Sydney metro area.

  • +1

The coupon codes "LOVE10" and "TP2021" are not valid anylonger, according to the website.Code "WORK21" only gives 10% off for "Edifier R1700BT 2.0" speakers. Looks like, I've missed out…

  • +1

My s3000pro speakers arrived today. Took 3 days to Western Australia, the speakers were double boxed and there were no signs of any damage on the outer box. Speakers were well protected inside as well. My experience with Wireless1 is faultless.

  • +1

Damn, missed it.. Was about to order the 1700BTs

  • +1

I received the 1700BTs without issue. I don't really have anything similar to compare them against but they seem like great value for $119.
